I totally love Italian horror movies and this is one of my favourites. I seen it first time in 93 and recently purchased it from a pound shop (lol) with a cracking soundtrack from billy idol and go west.

Hi amaranth.. we have discussed "Creepers" or "Phenomena" by Dario Argento on here recently.
But I can't remember a discussion about "Demons". The first time I saw "Waxwork" it reminded me of the premise of "Demons" to a point. Basically, if a creepy guy is offering free tickets to a new opening.. don't accept! And you are right about the soundtrack kicking it:
"White Wedding" by Billy Idol "Save our Souls" by Mötley Crüe "Walking on the Edge" by Rick Springfield "We Close Our Eyes" by Go West
My fav Dario Argento flick is actually the widely known "Suspiria" from the 70's.

Love this horror movie! The red headed usher, the crazy mix of people that come to the show-the parallel movie within a movie (within a movie!)Felt bad for the old blind guy, and that don't turn around ending.......as you can tell, I have seen this movie many many times

Demons 2 ok film not as good as first. Do like the car park scene though!

I liked Demons and Demons 2. Italian horror creates a totally different scary sensation to US horror movies... but maybe that's the bad dubbing
Argento has done some great stuff.

Love Argento. My second fave Italian director would be the father of the director of this, Mario Bava

Never really been into watching movies with subtitles or bad dubbing.
the soundtrack is making me think I should give it a look

This does revival screenings not infrequently - if it plays a theater in your town make sure to see it. It's the ULTIMATE movie theater movie.

I need to watch this again soon. I don't own it though.. I'm totally intrigued by the soundtrack that I had mostly forgotten until amaranth mentioned it.

The one thing that sticks out in my mind when i think of this one was how GROSS it was! It takes a LOT to irk me, but when you hit my nerev just right you can make me cover my eyes and run out of the room (I seem to recall someones teeth falling out of their head?)
This is not my favorite Argento film by a mile (SUSPIRIA and CREEPERS are my faves so far) . I dont think my husband likes when I rent these foreign ones (bad dubbing, and sometimes trying to dub into English makes the story lose something in the translation) but something about the dubbing and the "huh?" factor works for me - it makes me feel like Im trapped in a bad dream that doesnt make a lot of sense. You know, like those dreams where you have to run but cant move your legs

I think you just captured what makes them seem so different to other horror movies. They seem even creepier for it.

Demons is a classic horror flick but hey, Dario Argento didn´t direct this flick. It was directed by Lamberto Bava, another great italian horror director.
I have the cd which includes the great Demons movie score but the soundrack with the Billy Idol etc. tracks is rare stuff. I love the Claudio "Phenomena" Simonetti score.
