Ronnie... I almost bought this a few years ago, but the reviews I read were that some of the movies were missing entire segments. But for $6.99.. how can't you go wrong. I'm buying it tonight!

Thanks for the Skip tip

Oh.. I like Coach and Hunk in addition to the 3 you mentioned.

totally what I was gonna say Valley! it's $6.99 Ronnie you can't go wrong [Smile]

I talked about it on here and bought it when it was called 'School Dazed'

now they have repackaged it and added 3 movies
the Beach Girls, Cave Girl and Coach

I've watched a bunch of them and they are super cheesy some of the 70's ones I couldn't get through. I like Hunk and watched it alot as a kid (it's really cheesy)

It's $6.99 for a bunch of 80's movies!

Tomboy is worth a second mortgage on your house if you had to, so...

I have that School Dazed dvd.
Valley, where can i find the missing scenes info?
I just can´t understand the fact that they are editing these flicks.
I will always cherish my VHS tapes...

I just read a review that the "Too Cool For School" edition has the entire movies and is well worth the price. One movie on each side of a disc.

What I read in the past was on some of these collections the copies were from what they referred to as "Drive-in" editions that were poor quality and heavily edited.

But this edition looks good.. I haven't seen Coach, Hunk, or Tomboy in 20 years. So it should be fun!

I just checked .. Amazon has already shipped my order. Is that a sign that they wanted to get it out the door before I could change my mind? ha

Ronnie, when you place your order.. Amazon will probably be going.. no orders in two years and now two in two days??

Watched Jocks today,.. taken from the Too Cool For School dvd pack. Good movie! [Smile]

I was surprised that the movie was actually about a college tennis team?

 -

With cutie Scott Strader as "The Kid"
 -

The Kid, his fellow slacker teammates and their coach head out to Vegas for a tennis tournament and encounter some nightlife fun. Lots of silly moments..clubs, drinking, casinos, gambling, chicks, pranks... this one had some good laughs!

Definitely reminded me of a "Revenge of the Nerds" group of guys, who I immediately recognized from other 80s comedies.
 -

Mariska Hargitay has a small role as well, sporting some awesome 80s clothes.
 -

I even noticed Christopher Murphy who played one of Tommy's goons in Valley Girl whose role in Jocks was pretty much the same. [Wink]

Have to also mention the tunes in the movie were great, none that I knew of, but still fit movie very well. And another thing I enjoyed were the cruising scenes at night on the lit up roads of Vegas. [Big Grin]

I still recommend this dvd set. And I actually paid $4.99, instead of $6.99!

Awesome write-up Ronnie!

You have me wanting to watch "Jocks" to look for all the things you pointed out.

I definitely recommend the "Too Cool For School" collection as well.

My fav in the collection is:

Coach (1978)

 -

When Olympic Gold medalist Randy Rawlings is hired as a high school basketball coach, her new employers were not aware that she is would be a woman. After Randy forces them to honor their agreement, the school principal does everything he can to make her fail. Randy overcomes the doubters and  succeeds in creating a winning team among other things..

We discussed other movies such as "My Tutor" and "Private Lessons" in the past, but for me the best and most fun movie to enter the student/teacher terrority is "Coach".  As a person that has played sports my entire life with a passion for basketball, watching "Coach" as a teenager was a blast.

The chemistry between Cathy Lee Crosby and Michael Biehn seemed genuine and rather sexy from the viewpoint of a teenager.  Watching it again on the Too Cool For School DVD set was not quite the same, but still an enjoyable link to the past.

Okay.. for anyone that has seen "Coach" they will probably remember gawky Ned and the meaning of "Jabberwalky".

Oh and Ronnie .. I know you're a Michael Biehn fan .. so you need to watch "Coach" soon for sure. [Wink]

Thanks Val. I was totally planning on watching Coach next! I had read the description on the back of the box and noticed it said it had Michael Biehn in it. Ha.. you know me well.
