Ok I'm not sure if they're two separate movies are the same one but i remember scenes. these are movies or made for tv movies ive seen as a kid w/ my sister and we both cant figure out the titles. the first one is a boy who builds things with straws he collects straws from places.
the second is also a boy who hides away in a huge walk in closet all i can remember is him pushing aside hanging clothes and going into a empty space and sitting down

the second one sounds like it could be Real Genius. One of my fave 80's movies!
