Does anyone know where the movie "Her Alibi" starring Tom Selleck from 1989 was filmed? It mentions New York and there are a few shots of a court house.

IMDB.com just says it was filmed in Baltimore, MD. I loved the house that was used in that film.

I remember seeing this at the cinema. I remember I liked it, didn't really know much about it before I saw it but was pleasantly surprised.

Like many films that are supposed to be based in New York, are in fact filmed elsewhere, such as LA or Canada... but I really thought this one had a few of the early scenes in New York.

It's certainly a great, and under-rated movie. Plenty of laughs and a very original plot. And the lovely Paulina Poriskova, of course....

Yeah, I always liked this one too...I had seen a copy around for a while at the local mall, but it was in one of those yucky cardboard covers...just can't bring myself to buy them. I agree Paul, re Paulina...beautiful. She's been married to the lead singer of The Cars (Rick Ocasic(SP?)) for years...at least I think they're still together.

Mine is in a 'yucky cardboard cover'! In fact, a lot of the DVDs I pick up stateside do. I also have Pump Up The Volume, Nothing But Trouble, Under Siege, The Whole Nine Yards and Joe Vs The Volcano in cardboard covers.

You must learn not to let your fetish for plastic get in the way of owning such superb movies...... [Smile]

[Big Grin] Hee hee...I must say...I do own a few with cardboard covers...but darnit...they ruin the flow of my collection...I usually get my wife to make me an alternative cover (the original 80's ones of course)and put them in a plastic case. I almost re-bought Christmas Vacation this year... cause mine had a crapy cardboard cover. I was, however, able to stop myself!

I'm gonna confess... I love the cardboard covers! The box is tied to the disk. It reminds me of album sleeves. More character. I actually go out of my way to buy them!

I liked 'Her Alibi' a lot. Tom Selleck should've had a bigger career in movies.

He would have done, had he chosen Indiana Jones over Magnum PI.

I think he's great in this, and does a good straight man in Three Men And A Baby. My favorite movie of his though, is High Road To China, another of those 'destined to stay on vhs' classics....

I thought he wanted 'Raiders', but the people he was contracted to for 'Magnum' wouldn't let him do it?

'High Road to China' is a good one.

Here's a thought; when they made '3 Men and a Baby', Steve Guttenberg was far and away the biggest cinematic star of the three male leads! How strange is that?
