I watched THE DIRECTORS CUT of LEGEND today.

I had seen bits and pieces of this movie on TV once but never gave it too much thought. I never realzied Tim Curry was the deviul dude. hahaha! So now that I knew that I had to rent the movie and watch it from beginning to end.

I gotta admit, I did not think much of this movie. And the best part WAS Tim Curry.

Anybody actually see both versions? Which version was better?

As everyone probably knows I'm a huge 80's Tom Cruise fan and I've watched "Legend" numerous times, but I still struggle to call it a fav flick. I like the magical qualities of the movie, but I just feel so un-unicorn watching it. Did you enjoy the director's cut?

My next question is: Did Ronnie ever score The Lord of Darkness?

Wasn't the music different on both sides of the Atlantic? One version was 'Tangerine Dream' and the other has Jerry Goldsmith - I don't know which was which.

Legend was beautiful to look at, but it just has no narrative drive so it's hard to really get into it. They managed to capture a 'fairytale' feel, but failed to make a compelling story.

I have the Ultimate Edition dvd with both versions.

The US version has the TD soundtrack but i think that the Goldsmith score is better.
Thatīs surprising because iīm some kind of a Tangerine Dream fanatic.
Maybe itīs just the fact that iīve learned to watch the flick with the Goldsmith tunes, i donīt know.

Itīs not a great flick but the Curry scenes are awesome.

And Valley, Ronnie already answered the question, donīt you remember [Wink]

This morning my daughter asked me "So how was HELLBOY?" Hahaha! She thought Tim Curry was Hellboy!

I said "It wasnt that good" and instead of just taking THAT as face value she kept nuding me to talk about WHY I didnt like it. I said pretty much what LOGAN5 said "LOVELY to look at,but really-not a whole lot of substance" Sorta of like the cinematic equivelant of cotton candy, I suppose!

Do I regret watching it in full? No, because it WAS worth it to see another great Tim Curry performance. I know they kept him in the shadows for the early scenes so wed get a Big Reveal at the end, but he was cool and they should have had him in more of the movie.
