Hello, new here. Glad I found this site! I was watching Valley Girl two nights ago(for the millionth time) and I decided to watch the trailer on the DVD. At the end there was a list of artists on soundrack and there were a few that I never heard in the movie, nor are they on the Rhino Records soundtracks. Now, reading through this site I found out that apparently there are a few different versions of the movie, music wise. On the trailer it says that Men At Work, The Clash, Culture Club, The Blasters, Bananarama, and I believe The Thompson Twins are on the list, as well as others that I do remember hearing on the movie and are included in the Rhino soundracks(curiously Eddie Grant's Electric Avenue is never mentioned anywhere, even though it was a huge hit). I just read that Culture Club, Men At Work, Bananarama, Toni Basil, and Jane Weidlin/Sparks were originally in the theatrical released movie, but not on the version released on video(and I gather, DVD either). So, my question is, were the Clash ever in the movies soundtrack? If so, what song and where was it in the movie? Also what parts of the film were Culture Club, Toni Basil,The Blasters,Jane Weidlin/Sparks, and Bananarama played? Is every song included in Rhino Records soundracks on versions of the film, or are some songs on the CD's "inspired" by the film?
