I've been a big fan of Brian De Palma films for a long time. And this one easily ranks in my top 3 favorite De Palma movies of all time. Other films of his that I enjoy very much are such classics as: Scarface, Carrie, Casualties of War, The Untouchables, Obsession, Dressed to Kill...(ect). De Palma's work has often been compared to the work of Alfred Hitchc0ck. And this movie is one of the best examples of why. In fact, one can easily see reference to 3 Hitchc0ck classics in this movie, (Rear Window, Vertigo, Dial "M" for Murder.) But this doesn't faulter it or make this movie any less appealing. It blends awesome Hitchc0ck-style suspense with a good dose of the erotics that make for a great memorable film, (if you can get past the cheesy acting. heh.) I highly recommend this movie for anyone who's a fan of old Hitchc0ck-style suspense and drama.

Loved this movie, al though I always thought Bill Maher had the lead, I guess he looked like him. What can I say? A great thriller with the steam factor increased with Deborah Shelton and Melanie Griffith.

Loved this movie. It was fun to watch with a bunch of people when i was in college. Melanie Griffith was HOT back then. Way before she messed up her face.

Always liked this film...I wasn't the biggest fan of the ending though, bit of a let down for me. Pino Donaggio's score is a great one as well!

I think that pretty much sums up most of DePalma's career; "It reminded me of... [insert Hitch**** film here]"

Great 80's visual feel to "Body Double".. that house he voyeured from was quite bizarre looking. Holly Body was such a classic name for Melanie Griffith's character.
Pyro.. not a fan of "Blow Out"?
"Scarface" is my fav from your list.. incredible flick.

Saw it in the theater, 1st DePalma flick-(I'd tried to watch Dressed to Kill but too young so too scary). Holly Body-can't go wrong with a name like that

I grew up in the Long Beach/Anaheim area of California...not too far from where this movie was shot. And I can tell you there were quite alot of hillside homes that looked like that in the area. Some looked even more bizarre than others. ..And yes, I did also like Blow Out.

have not seen this one so will give this a look. i remember seeing this cover on the shelf when i was younger and thinking ooooo as for scarface...i know im a minority but i didnt like it one bit. I didnt like the god fathers either. I dont like mafia movies at all, nothing against them, i just dont get em like em or want to see them. They just bore the hell outta me.

You're not as much a minority as you think Willy..I've run across quite alot of people who don't enjoy the mafia films either. But if you want to check out this movie, you needn't worry...it's nothing like any of those mob movies.

Body Double is a true masterpiece. The twisted eighties-born lovechild of Rear Window , Vertigo and some sleazy soft-porno flick... Love it!!!
