Okay this is so random...here goes. A long time ago I was on IMDB and I think I was searching about the movie The Heavenly Kid and at the bottom of the screen it had cover art for other movies similar to HK...one of them had the most amazing 80's artwork on the front. It was total cheese and it had something to do with a "Girlfriend in Heaven" or "Heaven's Girl." I can't remember it at all...I just know I wanted to check it out cause it was one I had never seen...
Does anyone know this??? I could of sworn the cover almost looked drawn, not a real photograph...kind of like the original Last American Virgin cover art. I remember it being like this girl standing on clouds or there were alot of clouds around her and it was like blue and purple...wow...that's all I got...anyone??? Anyone???

Hey Cindy....maybe Just Like Heaven? Reese Witherspoon and Mark Ruffalo?
I don't have any other ideas....but that one's not animated or drawn.
Missie
P.S. Hi everyone!

its not DATE WITH AN ANGEL is it?

This is a stretch, but possibly The Boy Who Could Fly? Not a drawing however.

In terms of plot similarity it could be either 'Date With an Angel' or 'Made in Heaven'. But from the description it sounds like the cover of 'The Butcher's Wife'.

This is Cindy Mancini we are talking about......you need to start sifting through the bargain bin of unknown movies for this one.

Most likely not this, but pretty cool artwork anyway....Heaven Can Wait, 1978:

Made In Heaven - 1981 ??? Mike Shea (Timothy Hutton) dies and goes to heaven, where he falls in love with Annie (Kelly McGillis). They get married and are about to live happily ever after for all eternity when Annie is reincarnated and sent down to earth. Lost without her, Mike makes a deal with his guardian angel to let him reincarnate as well so he can find her. The only problem is neither will remember more than slight feelings and intuitions of their life in heaven, and they will have only 30 years to find each other. Brimming over with touches both clever and poignant, this romantic saga is a shamelessly perfect date movie and a story of beautiful inspiration for the noncynical. There's also a lot of great music from composer Mark Isham and Neil Young, whom both also appear in the film, as does Tom Petty, Ric Ocasek, Amanda Plummer, Ellen Barkin, writer Tom Robbins, and saxophone legend Pee Wee Ellis. Director Alan Rudolph directed from a screenplay by producers Bruce Evans and Raymond Gideon.

I think I found it!!!! Earth Angel, starring Cindy Williams. I can't seem to find the original cover art anywhere to confirm my recollection of this video but this is progress. Does anyone remember this movie????

Alls I know is this: That is NOT Cindy Williams on the cover! Who IS that anyway???
Posted by mamamiasweetpeaches (Member # 1715) on :
....Pretty sure it's not Mark Hamill or Erik Estrada either!

That is Cathy Podewell on the cover, some of you might remember her from the movie "Night of the Demons".
jdoc, I think Cindy is hoping there is an old VHS cover art that could validate "Earth Angel" as the movie she seeks.

I was totally wrong, in fact WAY OFF, but I finally found out the name of the movie I was wondering about...Breaking All the Rules!!! Anyone know this movie? Is it good? Looks like 80's heaven on a stick?
Posted by mamamiasweetpeaches (Member # 1715) on :
Its decent. the two guys meeting two gals plotline is cute...however they end up runninga foul some clumsy crooks and THAT part of the movie is beyond dopey.
I DID soet of enjoy the PORKYS-esque "Last Hurrah Of Summer , Lets Get Some Tale!" part of the movie though.
Is this on DVD yet? Id buy it!
Posted by logan5 (Member # 1467) on :
It is on DVD (the picture is the DVD).
It's a low budget Canadian T&A flick with a lame criminal plot. It's not too bad, and my description makes it sound more exploitative than it is. It has a charming quality to it. Probably worth a watch.

Haha! Glad you finally tracked down the movie cindymancini!
Breaking all the Rules is a ridiculously low budget Canadian flick that got seriously overplayed on Showtime in the 80's
There is a region 2 UK DVD available that is decent quality (other than the audio being slightly out of sync). Looks like it may be out of print now since it isn't directly available directly from amazon in the UK anymore.
I've had the disc for a few years and I keep meaning to rip it apart and resync the audio, maybe it is time to finally get around to doing it
