I started watching it last night...I have to finish it tonight. I can't believe I never saw this movie in the 80's. I love it. I think it is so cool when you see a movie that show kids in high school...because you can remember what everyone was wearing back then and what the cars looked like. Keanu Reeves looks the best I have ever seen him...in this movie. Lori Laughlin looks like she made this movie at the exact same time she did Secret Admirer...there was a scene in the pizza place in this movie that looks like they swapped out C. Thomas Howell for Keanu Reeves.
It has a great cast. I couldn't believe how many teenage boys from other movies ...were in this one...I like Don Michael Paul...and the kid from Summer School, and one of the kids was in Fire with Fire, and Billy Zane is in it.
It has a great cast.
Has anyone else seen it? I never even heard of it before...I found it through the SmartMenu.
It totally has an "Afterschool Special" feel to it.

Yes, I've seen it (a few years ago) and agree completely with what you said about it. It's not the greatest movie, by any measure, but its not the worst, either

I think it's a really cool little TV movie. I remember when I first saw it, I thought "Wow! What a cast!" It's one of those films that seems like it should have a cult following, but maybe because it's not that famous, it doesn't seem to.
P.S. **Welcome back Isis!**

Hey Logan! It is great to see you...I really missed you.
I think this movie just slipped by people...maybe because there were so many other movies out that were similiar, but I think it is made really well. I totally love the cast.
I like that all the kids in it were really preppy.
I still have to finish the very end of it...I am going to try and watch the rest tonight.
This was an awesome 80's movie to find to watch...so many years later.

I finished this movie last night...I really liked it, but the way it ended....it was like they just chopped it off right at place that was like the big build up scene...and then it was over...I thought they should have wrapped it up differently...but I still really liked it. It seemed like it was made for TV, because it would cut off in places....that seemed as if those were places that commercials would have been added.

I have never even HEARD of this movie! Keanu Reeves???? Keifer Sutherland??? In the same movie????? YOWZA! HOT DAMN! Top Of NETFLIX Que....STAT!

Isis, I seem to recall feeling the way you did about the ending... very TV. But still, my reaction when I first saw it was something like Mamamia's above. I think I saw it about '88 when Keanu and Keifer were really starting to go 'up' in fame.
A really good movie starring Keifer that not many people seem to have seen is called 'The Bay Boy'. It was a Canadian production, and a really good little movie.

Mamamia-You should get it...you can get it through the smart menu...on ebay for around $3.00 plus shipping. It is well worth it. I'd like to watch it again. I LOVED all the guys in it. I actually thought Keifer was good looking in this movie...before that .I never really thought of him as "attractive"...I always thought he was "interesting" looking. The clothes in the movie are so 80's. I miss those clothes so bad.
I thought Don Michael Paul was gorgeous in this movie...I love him in the movie "Rich Girl" with Jill Schoelen-it is from 1991-but it definately had an 80's feel to it.
Logan5-when I got to the end...I swear I felt like I turned my head for a second and I missed the whole ending, but that's because it just ended...and it wasn't when I thought it would, or how I thought it would, but even so...it was still good.

The other day AMC had a commercial for STAND BY ME - and I almost half-forget Kiefer is IN that movie cuz his part was pretty small...but they showed a scene from him in STAND BY ME and it was like WOW! TAKE MY BREATH AWAAAAAAAAAAAAY! He was so smokin' hot in the '80s! I had it for him very badly!

The recipe for this movie would be:
Take
1 Cup of the Lost Boys, add 2 Cups of The Outsiders, 1/2 cup of Secret Admirer, and a 1/4 Cup of Lucas, and put it in a mixer...and out would come this movie.

Well I watched it last night. My husband came home half-way through with groceries in the car so I paused it and helped him carry in the bags...he looked at the TV screen, saw Keanu and said "What are you watching?" and I said "BROTHERHOOD OF JUSTICE". to my surprise - he had seen this movie before! (and I know he wasnt bluffing cuz he mentioned the trademark bloody handprint!) When I started the movie up again it went right into a Kiefer scene and my husband was like "Oh, NOW I know why you rented this- Kiefer Sutherland!" Wow, he knows me SO well! I said "Yeah- and Keanu Reeves too - Giddyup!" Then we were talking about how LOYAL I am! Instead of finding NEW celebrities to fall in love with I just rent old movies with the people I liked as a teenager - When I carry a torch I carry it forever!
The movie was okay...sure , a little cheesy, but arent they ALL? I mean, try watching TUFF TURF, THE NEW KIDS and CLASS OF 1984 NOW!
You were right - what a cast! Some of these guys I didnt know them by NAME but I definately recognized them from other 80s movies I had seen. The second they showed Keanus little brother I was like "Is that Danny Nucci??? My God, I havent seen him in YEARS!" (there was a time in the '80s where he was all over the place!I THINK he was in TITANIC for about 5 minutes...thats the last time I saw him).
So , yeah, it was enjoyable in a Flashback to The '80s sort of way.
Is it just me or did the end credits make anyone else feel like they were watching an episode of LAW & ORDER? Hahaha.

All right.... Maybe I need to check this movie out... Danny Nucci used to be in all kinds of stuff. I remember him more from the 90s though...
So is the movie worth buying?
Posted by mamamiasweetpeaches (Member # 1715) on :
Well, as ISIS said, yiu could probably buy it really cheap on eBay or something. I don't know if I'm that in love with it that I need to OWN. I was happy NETFLIXing it.

I would watch it again....I thought the little brother looked familiar.
Mamamia--what do you think of Don Michael Paul?? He's the one who has the motorcycle stolen.
I think he's really cute in that movie.
I loved their clothes.
I liked how they had a hang out place "Delmonico's".
I loved Keifer's car. I thought he was such a nice guy in this movie...which is different for him.
I thought the same thing about the end too...turning it in to the black and white-comic book type pictures of them...was kind of odd...it didn't really fit.
It could have tied together better at the end. But, it was what it was.

I've never watched this movie but it sounds great, will have to try and find a copy.
Posted by ISIS (Member # 1780) on :
Well, if the little brother looked familiar its because he used to pop up on shows like GROWING PAINS and TV movies like THE CHILDREN OF TIMES SQUARE (remember THAT one? I'd love to see a DVD for THAT!) I remember buying magazines like TIGER BEAT and BOP for pictures of DURAN DURAN and Danny Nucci always being in there.
The fashions in this movie have "aged well" when compared to movies like GIRLS JUST WANNA HAVE FUN (spandex much???) - the only "what were they thinking" thing I noticed was Lori Loughlin's up-turned collars! (I NEVER remember doing that in the '80s and don't know anyone who DID!) - by the way - my daughter who is 9 walked through the room and said "Is that Aunt Becky???" (FULL HOUSE) when she saw Lori Loughlin. Hahaha!
The other guys in "The Brotherhood" looked so damn familiar I was banging my head into the wall trying to remember where I had seen them before (I'll have to look up their IMDB profiles)
So - my Final Thought on the subject - anyone who is a fan of Keanu or Kiefer should definately check it out -they are both young and cute and even though it's a little cheesy it was not a BAD movie.

The Blonde haired guy-who was kind of nerdy-who would get the profiles of who they were going to target next...he was in Summer School.
The curly dark haired guy-who was the first to get out of the group...he was Randy in the Outsiders.
Billy Zane has been in lots of stuff....he was in Titanic.
The guy they called "Mule"....he was in "Fire with Fire"...he was one of the reform school boys.
Don Michael Paul was in the movie "Rich Girl" with Jill Schoelen, he plays a singer.
