Hey guys! I was hoping someone could help me out. I have been looking for YEARS for a certain movie called "Splash, too" starring TOM HANKS & DARRYL HANNAH. I can only seem to find the one starring Amy Yasbeck and Tom Warring (I think that's his name) And yes it really does exist! Has anyone here even heard of this movie? Have you heard anything about Disney releasing it to DVD? ANY Help would be very much appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Tom Hanks & Darryl Hannah was in "Splash".
"Splash, Too" was a TV-Movie in 1988, but it did not have either Tom or Darryl in it.
Okay, Tom Hanks and Darryl Hannah have done the movie "Splash, too". The story line was identical to the one with Amy Yasbeck. If anyone else knows of where I might find the Tom Hanks version of this movie, it would be very much appreciated! It is also starring John Candy as Freddy (with a moustache no less! lol)

Steven is right.....do you know how to go to imdb.....it's an awesome site if your a movie lover.........you can look at Tom Hanks or Darryl Hannahs page and it will show every movie tv show or tv interview they have been in.
I had a friend who loved Splash too when she was a kid and had it on vhs....the only thing we could find was a clip of it on You tube......but it's with Amy Yasbeck

Thank you all for your replies. However, Tom Hanks, Darryl Hannah and John Candy DID do "Splash, too". It was the first and only one I watched as a kid and I LOVED it! I loved that the original cast came back to do it. Except for Eugene Levy Then over the years I thought maybe I was going crazy - maybe it didn't exist - and I was remembering the movie with Amy Yasbeck. But then a few months ago it was replayed on my sister-in-law's satellite tv in a Tom Hanks marathon. Why didn't she tape it for me? I do not know... sniff... My sister did contact Disney about the movie (with Tom Hanks) and they said they have no plans to release it on VHS OR DVD. But that was a couple of years ago and I was hoping someone had heard something about it. Maybe I should just e-mail Disney again and see if anything has changed. I have been looking for the good version of this movie for way too long...

Not to be negative in any way, but is there any possibility your memory is just the slightest bit hazy
To summarize:
-We can all agree that the original Splash starred Tom Hanks and Darryl Hannah
-We can all agree that Disney did a made for TV sequel (Splash Too) that did NOT star Tom Hanks and Darryl Hannah.
-No one else has ever heard of a third Splash film which carried the same name as the made for TV sequel in which Tom Hanks and Darryl Hannah reprised their roles.
-Tom Hanks and Darryl Hannah each only have a single film credit with the word 'Splash' in the title (the 1984 film)
Maybe you tuned in to the original version recently and assumed it wasn't the first film
In any case, Good luck

Devolution here,
Not for nothing, I don't think Daryl Hannah and Tom Hanks were in ANY other movies together. Kaimana, you are talking to a group of experts. We have dedicated years to research and the ability to answer questions. Splash was a stepping stone for the career of Tom Hanks. To my knowledge, for the type of actor he is, I don't think he has ever been in a sequel ever.
We thank you for your questions, but it's not bullying or anything like that, but we all are here to help, and there isn't a person on this board that hasn't screwed up at one time or another.

haha Devo is right......we are the experts!
I give us credit too because we have all in the nicest way possible tried to tell her it doesn't exist.....haha word!

I am so glad that I decided to look for help on this site. As I said, my sister-in-law SAW the movie so I know it exists. I also hope the next time someone asks for help on this site that they WILL get it and not sarcastic comments from a bunch of *******s. That aside, thank you for your POSITIVE feedback "WolfmansGotNards".

Kaimana We are just trying to help you and we are all just joking nobody ever said anything mean to you or called you anything mean at all? It was actually kindof of mean spirited of you to use a word that involved having to be censored
honestly I've been on here a long time and we are all nice and just funny and would never be sarcastic *******
It's just a who's wrong who's right thing? Im sad you took it that way.

Kaimana, people have been helping you - by letting you know that you are mistaken about there being any sequel to Splash that starred the original actors.
The IMDB page for Splash, Too is HERE, showing Todd Waring and Amy Yasbeck in the two roles.
All people are doing is correcting your assertions, and nobody has been in any way abusive to you - certainly not as much as you have been to them, judging by the way our site language censor kicked in.
I'm sorry that you feel that being helped when you are wrong is not what you wanted, but that's what you'll get ewhen you visit a site with such knowledgable people on it as have answered you above - the facts.
However, I'm sure that you can maybe find some conspiracy theory websites that will support the idea of the total supression of such a movie...

I never even knew there was a Splash too, so at least if anything...that part was informational...
I can't believe they would even attempt a sequel WITHOUT the original cast, that's just so wrong.
Posted by P.S. It's Paul.... (Member # 1022) on :
Most sequels in the 80s didn't have the original cast - think of Mannequin as a great example. The original was great with Andrew McCarthy and Kim Cattrall, but when they made the sequel and only Washington signed up, it was dire.
Same with Splash, Too - no original stars equals a no-star movie.
And dare I even mention Home Alone 4? Police Academy without Steve Guttenberg?
Cashing in on a successful movie by producing a low budget sequel is by no means a new concept - it happened all the time. Not necessarily right, but it happened so often. In fact, back in the 80s, it was more rare to see a sequel that DID have the entire cast of the original.
