Is a bad DVD release better than no release at all? There are some movies that just don't get the all-star treatment as the big blockbusters... I guess some release is better than nothing at all, but it still leaves me wanting better quality sometimes!
Some movies I'd like to see remastered and re-released:
Joysticks (current disc looks pretty bad - it's 4x3 not OAR, dark picture, VHS seems superior to this)
Just One of The Guys (current disc looks great, but its 4x3 - not OAR)
Can't Buy Me Love (current disc looks great, but its 4x3 - not OAR)
My Science Project (current disc is OAR but not anamorphic, colors look pretty washed out)

For me it's: Trick or Treat (1986)
This awesome film did get a release in 2002 (but it was completely lacking in special features) so it was strictly a bare bones effort. Cult movie company Anchorbay were all set to release a 20th anniversary special edition version in 2006 but had to abandon it when they encountered problems with the music rights. I don't like when they're digital remastered. Why can't they just convert them to DVD and leave the rest alone. I don't like to watch an 80's movie that looks like a new one. So I seldom buy them on DVD because I can't trust what they have done to the movie. Like my favorite movie Legend is all ruined because of that. I hope the DVD Ultimate Edition is better. Now, I don't think many people agree with me on this, though . . .

I kind of agree Te-em. I do like buying my 80's movies on DVD, simply because they take up less room, but I don't mind buying the cheaper versions (ie, in the $5.00 bin) because I like the grittiness of the old eighties movies. It is nice, though, to get extra features that tell you lots more about your old favorites.

I would like to see Stephen King do a commentary on Maximum Overdrive, since it is the only one of his works he has actually directed (poorly or not, I still like it).

The DVDs released by Horse of Horror are the best. You can't tell if it's a DVD or VHS when you watch it. They just converted it into DVD format and left it that way. Even the cover is from a VHS. It says cassette at the back cover even if it is a disc!

Definitely agree on 2010, the DVD was released in 2000, maybe they're waiting until 2010 to re-release 2010? it's only a couple of years away now...
