I found this gem of an 80s movie at Wal-Mart earlier for $5 and snatched it up!

The one with William Petersen? Hell yes. I liked him in "12 Angry Men" also.

Uh..12 angry men? They did a remake? The only 12 Angry Men I know of is B&W and stars Henry Fonda and Jack Klugman, among a host of other big-name stars of the 50's!
PS: Manhunter is like one of the greatest 80's movies that nobody has ever seen. Not only is it incredibly well done (much better, IMHO, than the Red Dragon remake) but its *so* ridiculously 80's...its pre Miami Vice but its got everything that Vice would be, the well dressed but hard-edged cops, synth heavy soundtrack, and isn't the police station lit up with like trendy 80's lighting or neon or something insane like that?
Now I'm gonna have to go re-watch it.
Good score, a true 80's gem.

If I see this on DVD I'd buy it for the music alone... very deep film.

I just watched this as my fall asleep too movie and watched the rest this morning.
I'd never even heard of it? It totally has a Rewind main page!
Talk about stylized, sorta Miami Vice (Florida and neon)I get ya HeadRusch.....cool music not so sure about the choppy ending and In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida???? lol
William Peterson was great and I actually laughed a few times at his walking through the crime scenes "that's what you did didn't you...you *******" made me laugh for some reason.
Joan Allen played in the creepiest scene for me....ehhhh. You know what i'm talking about.
Anyway pretty cool thriller/murder movie.

It reminds us of Miami Vice because it is a Michael Mann film. Miami Vice was in full swing at the time too. Great film choice for right before bed, Muffy, talk about nightmare city!

It's a fantastic movie; very symbolic and extremely beautiful. Michael Mann is one great director.
