Again, little to go on but here's what I remember.
Main characters are teens. One creates a remote control which can control anything electronic. At one point they are escaping from somebody in a car and use the remote to change the traffic lights in their favour.
I also remember a girl being held captive in sort of an interrogation room and her listening to what her interrogators are saying by placing a glass cup against the wall and placing her ear over the end.
