Well today is a grand and glorious day but it has not come without struggle. I got out of work a little early and decided to trek to find Private School, Night of the Comet and Revenge of the Nerds Special Edition DVD's. Man, I had to go to 5 different places and the hardest to find was Private School . When I got in my car, I just sat there and looked at it for a few seconds and let out a sigh of relief like, "Yes!"
I did notice that the date on the back says 2004, which is when it was originally supposed to come out. I think it was already manufactured and packaged but then got held back in some warehouse for almost 3 years. In any event, I'm just glad to own it finally after 24 years!
So all that being said, did anyone else have a problem find these? Or has anyone gotten them and feel as psyched as I do?

i found night of the comet easily on line (amazon.com) but you couldnt order until 3/6. i ordered and should be getting it in a few days. it was $10.50 i think. i did see private school there too...if your going the online route. Its hard to find some of the 80's movies in stores. Good luck!

Didnt have a bit of trouble. Of course, I pre ordered it from here http://turnerclassic.moviesunlimited.com/product.asp?sku=D64242++ Along with Solarbabies. And when I got home tonight they were sitting here waiting for me. Gotta say though NOTCs cover leaves a bit to be desired. Think I'm going to pre order Harry and The Hendersons now. And may get Gymkata at the same time. Im telling you guys if youre having a tough time finding those 80s favorites THIS is the place to go.

hm, i walked into SUNCOAST MOTION PICTURE COMPANY store on the 6th and found night of the comet and solarbabies easily. i didn't bother to look for private school, because i was planning on getting it online. i didn't expect the store to carry that one for some reason. but they have loads of 80s movies there. i usually order online at amazon though.

I was searching all over for Revenge of the Nerds: The Atomic Wedgie Collection and the only place that had it was Zellers. so I was happy to buy it...and when I mentioned it to my co-worker, he shocked me when he said that he's never heard of the movie.

I found "Night Of The Comet" over the weekend at Wal-Mart for 10 bucks. They had "Revenge of the Nerds" as well.

While I hate the new cover art, there are redeeming qualities to this Special Edition release.
Nerds has a Making Of Featurette, with new interviews from several of the actors including, Betty Childs, Stan Gable, Lamar, Wormser, Booger, Louis & Pointdexter. There are also a bunch of deleted scenes, which contains plots we never even knew about, the pilot for the TV show which never happened and the trailer for this and Part II.
However, the biggest reason to pick this up is for the commentary track. Oh my god, it's SO damn funny . It's with Louis (Robert Caradine), Booger (Curtis Armstrong) and Pointdexter, who's real name escapes me at the moment. They reveal so many things about the making of the movie and little behind the scenes stories and jokes. They are truly hilarious guys! Watching it this way is almost like you're hanging out with them. I would recommend it to anyone.

I got NOTC today at Best Buy. I was fully bummed out on the extremely crappy cover image that they put on it. I can't believe in this day and age that they would do something so blatantly crappy! I have seen numerous fan-created covers for this movie for the bootlegs. Whoever they have designing covers these days at the studios should have their hands broken along with their computers!
That being said, i'm stoked to have a nice clean widescreen copy of this great movie finally.
