Just watched Christmas vacation the other night and it was great. I'm kind of getting in the Christmas Spirit. Just curious if there are some movies you guys like watching during the christmas season. (I know it's early but there is snow on the ground where I live)
I also love,
Christmas Story Gremlins

Definitely one to watch for this time of year. It is probablly the most iconic Christmas film right behind A Christmas Story.
Other films that I love to watch this time of year:

Those are just a few must sees!

I also love gremlins, and trading places - I just got it on dvd, I'm gonna watch around christmas and eat some holiday food. ah, good times.
I also have a couple of tapes of sitcoms' holiday episodes, like married with childern, murphy brown, stuff like that. I love christmas

While we're on this, what's everyone's favorite part of Xmas Vacation? I'd have to go with Uncle Lewis burning down the tree and them catching on fire himself. The look of sheer horror on Clark's face as he sees his perfect tree destroyed is classic.

I guess things never change. I watched Christmas Vacation two days ago and it appears I watched it the same exact day 4 years agao!!!
I think once the first snowfall hits my mind goes right to this movie. Seriously such a great movie and a great Christmas movie. Warms your heart and makes you laugh your guts out at the same time.
Random but does anyone have the Moose Mugs from this movie? And also I know there are "official" ones out there but I have not seen any that look exactly like they do in this movie. Just curious if you can even get them....

I watch "It's A Wonderful Life" every Christmas Eve with my parents and then we watch "Christmas Vacation" on Christmas day at some point. The movie "Elf" is now in the rotation because my niece and nephew enjoy it so much.
I have added "Die Hard" and "Night of the Comet" to my Christmas late night watch list for this year.

It was on the other night and my husband put it on. My daughter asked me if Id seen it yet and I said "ohmyGod Ive seen that movie at least 6 times" She said "That good, huh?" but the truth of the matter is I actually prefer EUROPEAN VACATION. I catch this one cuz they play it on TV a lot near Christmas and I love that squirrel scene! I told her if I come across it while channel-surfing and I know the squireel scene is coming up I'll watch JUST for the squireel scene. (I do the same thing with CADDYSHACK and the candy bar in the pool scene)

NL's Christmas Vacation is definitely my favorite "Vacation" film & probably my favorite Christmas film as well. Laugh-out-loud funny, with a lot of hilarious scenes.

I'm going to try and wait until November to dive in to this thread, but I'm super excited to watch it. My wife saw a bottle of wine called "Kith and Kin" last week and bought it for our first viewing of the movie this year. Can't wait!
"It's all part of the experience, honey."

Rewatched Christmas Vacation and i have to say that itīs on par with European Vacation but the original is easily the best of the bunch.
I like the animated opening sequence and the theme tune is perfect. Chase is funny but you know all the jokes beforehand so it feels like the writing is a little bit lazy. My favorite scenes are the one that happens in the mall and the daydream sequence. Both include superhot Nicolette Scorsese.
Hughes offered the film to Chris Columbus but he couldnīt get along with Chase so rookie Jeremiah Chechik got the job. John of course had another script for Chris called Home Alone and we all know what happened with that one.
