Don't ask me why, but I love this movie. I remember watching it with a few girls in the late 80's one night after we got off work. We had a blast and Buddy had us all laughing out loud throughout the movie.
This film had a great cast with Joyce Hyser (believable as a girl or guy), Deborah Goodrich (my second fav 80's Deborah), and Clayton Rohner. I discovered it again the night that Encore had it's "Big 80's Night" and I've watched it steadily ever since.

I just bought it! I was waiting for the price to drop because I always saw it at $19.99 until like 3 weeks ago when I saw that it was now 9.99.
But cool movie.

Mane1980, this movie offers tons of 80's nostalgia. From William Zabka's Greg Tolan which appears to be an extension of his "Karate Kid" role. To the 80's fashion throughout the movie, some of those outrageous outfits that Deborah Goodrich wore were actually quite popular. Best of all is the awesome Ronnie Spector song "Tonight You're Mine Baby" that is played a couple times during the movie. Oh and I totally enjoy the setting for the Prom on the Beach.

I noticed the prom theme was "Passion In Paradise"....check out the huge sign in the background at the cafeteria and then later at the beach above the Brock/Davis band. I wonder how much the director, Lisa Gottlieb, spent on getting that sign made up for the movie. Then she probably wanted to get her money's worth out of it by using it in several shots.

This is one of my all time favourites. I saw a trailer for "She's the man" recently which brought back memories of this flick.

This is the original chick turned guy in order to get another guy flick! Right!! I am just sorry that we haven't seen more of Joyce Hyser beyond the 80s. I think that she works as a producer now. Anyone know anything about her and her whereabouts these day?

She has starred in many films, her debut having been in 1980's 'The Hollywood Knights'. She went on to appear in the 1983 hit film 'Valley Girl' and the 1984 film 'This Is Spinal Tap'. Her first starring role was as Terry Griffith in 1985's hit comedy, 'Just One of the Guys'. Hyser went on to star in the 1988 TV movie Police Story: Monster Manor with Just One of the Guys co-star Clayton Rohner.
On television, Hyser had a recurring role as Allison Gottlieb on the 1980s legal drama L.A. Law, and as Megan Lockheart on The Flash. She has also made guest appearances on Melrose Place, Viper, Pacific Blue, and The Division.
Hyser also featured prominently in the music video for "I Can Dream About You" by Dan Hartman.
Hyser dated musician Bruce Springsteen in the 1980s.
She is now a writer and producer. Loved her on 80's Teen Stars!
