I watched Sudden Impact. I must have seen it or pieces of it in the 80's, cause I remembered a little bit of it, but not much. I could never stand Sondra Locke-I have never figured out what Clint Eastwood saw in her...but she actually was semi ok in this movie. It was a pretty cool story line. I couldn't stand the woman who played "Ray"....I was glad when she got what she deserved.
I love the coffee shop scene. I also like the scene where he goes in to the wedding of the mob boss, and he provokes him in to having a heart attack...by telling him he has a letter that this girl wrote before she was murdered that linked the guy to her death...and the cool part...was what was actually written on that letter.
I love his dog "Meathead"...I am partial to bulldogs, since we have one. I liked every time Clint said "Swell".
I love the scene at the end at the carnival, when he is standing there...in the shadows-with his gun...the music they play and everything is just so cool.
There is a span of 12 years between Dirty Harry and Sudden Impact...and yet- they both were awesome movies for their time period...they were made really well. I just don't understand how come now nobody can make a movie anywhere close to that. Clint Eastwood was 53 in Sudden Impact...and he looked fantastic....I was thinking about how good he looked, even in comparison to what Tom Cruise looks like at 44, Clint Eastwood really held it together great. He looks old now...but heck he's 76 years old. He's allowed to. But, considering as much as he's been knocked around, and as much time as he spent in the sun-in all those westerns-he must have some great genetics. I know his mom is still alive...and getting close to 100. I hope he can hang in there too.
He is the coolest.
