I clicked on that, and as soon as I saw it said Rob Zombie was doing the next Halloween movie, I got a sick feeling in my gutt, and clicked back off of it. Cripes, he's a nut case, why can't John Carpenter still make another Halloween movie?

I posted in a thread over at that site that I hoped Zombie didn't screw it up, but I really only posted the link for the news on the 3 DVD releases.

He's creepier in real life than Michael Meyers ever could be, if I had a choice as to who I would pick to be left alone in a room with, I'd take Michael Meyers.

I think Rob Zombie will do a great job. Nothing could be worse than that Halloween Resurrection crap with Busta Rhymes and Tyra "I wanna be Oprah" Banks. Zombie's a huge fan of the series so he'll do it right.........

Rob is actually a very intelligent well spoken man. His first two horror films were an experiment. He wanted to be cheesey, pointless and gory. He wanted to prove a point that you can make an idiotic movie without a plot and still make money.
I can think of a dozen 80s slasher films that followed the same super-gory plotless formula.
Halloween used to scare me but it has worn off because the sequels were all crap. I can't wait to see Rob re-imagine this series and put some life (and death) back into it.

He's also a horror movie fanatic. He has tons of memoribilia from all sorts of horror movies dating back to the Bela Legosi (sp) days..... I think Rob will take this project more seriously than his previous 2 films since he's so well schooled in the horror genre...........

I completely agree Motley. I think it's something to look forward to. I can't wait to see where he goes with this.

He'll probably be directing it in-between taping segments for "TCM Underground". That's a new film program he'll be hosting on Turner Classic Movies, centering on horror, thriller and exploitation movies.
That'll be interesting to see if Rob Zombie can mesh with Rob(ert) Osborne.
Sincerely,
John Kilduff

Rob Zombie used to really, really freak me out, especially after I saw House of 1000 Corpses. However, someone mentioned him being well-spoken. They interviewed him on AMC's 100 Scariest Movies of All Time, and he seemed well-spoken and seemed to have an idea of what he was talking about. He didn't seem as freaky as "himself," I guess you could say. So I guess I'd like to see where he goes with this.

I have heard him interviewed many times, I have just been irritated with the last couple to the point that I am just hesitant to be excited about his version. However this thread was mainly to put the V.1 SE news out there.

I have heard him talk too...I couldn't tell ya though a thing about what he was saying...I know it didn't make any major impressions with me that made me think...wow I have him pegged all wrong.

Not too far away now.

I know this is an old thread, but all of these were very much worth the wait.
