Does anyone remember "The Bride" that starred Sting and Jennifer Beals. It was hyped as a remake of "The Bride Of Frankenstein", but it went in a completely different direction. It was a failure at the box office, but I watched it recently and it was somewhat amusing. It showed the dark side of life with compassion for the monster turned hero Frankenstein. Mary Shelley purist would definitely not enjoy this movie.

I have it on VHS. I remember watching it when it came out. It was kind of funny with the midget & fat lady! It was a wierd take on Frankenstein lore.
Speaking of Mary Shelley purists... a friend of mine at work hates it when people call the monster Frankenstein! He always points out that the monster was never called Frankenstein... Frankenstein was the doctor who created the monster. The name of the movie refers to the doctor, not the monster. And like you said...he HATES this movie!
At a convention last year I met the man who played the little boy from the movie "Son Of Frankenstein." He had lots of people lined up at his table to get his autograph. I was amazed that so many people wanted his autograph...and besides that, most of the people in line were 30yr old parents with their little kids. Come to find out, the guy also did the voice of Bambi! That's why all the people were in line. They all had their Bambi DVDs & posters for him to sign. I read an article in the paper that same week saying that he just revealed that he was the voice of Bambi a month before that convention. (it was the 50th anniv of Bambi or something...) The reason he kept it a secret all these years was that he became a Marine Drill Instructor and didn't want it to get out in fear that his buddies would call him SGT. Bambi or something like that and that nobody would take him seriously.
