Hi people... please please PLEASE help... it's driving me insane for years...does anyone know what this film is called... sorry my memory might be a bit sketchy on details... young boy in a small town in America. The town has a lake in it which is thought to have a monster in it. Every so often, something looking monster like surfaces in the middle of the lake (scary). Young boy is a bit of a science buff, so creates a type of scuba diving helmet (out of a fish bowl I think) and goes exploring in the bottom of the lake (braver than anyone I know) and finds all this weird treasure and stuff. He wipes the dirt of some and its this huge head of a statue or something. Meanwhile town folk are worried he's drowned so are draining the lake, only to discover that the monster is, in fact, this old crane thing covered in seaweed and said boy is in the claw of the crane... gives me a major case of the creeps just thinking about it!! I would love to see this again, but have no idea what its called. Hoping it will rid me of my water phobia that it left me with the first time round!!! Thanks to anyone who can help me [LIST]

It is amazing how often the same movies are asked about on here. If "The Hugga Bunch" movie is #1, then "The Quest" is #2. I had never heard of this movie until The Wizard answered this for someone years ago. Now I feel like I've seen this movie, even though I haven't as of yet.
