I love the theme song to both of them. Cannonball!! Cannonball!!
Part 1 is definately the best, we laughed our heads off.
Sammy Davis Jr. and Dean Martin were so funny.
The goofy Doctor they get in the first one is so funny, my son laughs every time they show him and play that creepy music.
I thought it was funny the way they did that whole thing when Farrah Fawcett would start talking about why she loved "trees", something always cut her off, but they played that goofy music in the background.
I thought it was cool that they got so many of the original people back for the 2nd one, allthough I didn't think it was as funny.
I never noticed until this one that the police car chasing the Lamborgini in the 1st one is a Trans Am. I used to love all the cool sports cars...the old Ferraris were the coolest. Nothing that is new is as cool as they use to be, I can't think of any car that really would get me all excited to have one...like I could care less, as long as it gets me where I am going.
The outfits the girls wore in part 1 made me miss all my spandex clothes! Hahaha.
My son thinks these movies are hysterical.
The thing with all the older movies that makes them great are the actors that made them, and the writing...it was funny stuff, and the actors playing the parts were so likeable, and they were all good looking, or had really great personalities on film, and that's what I like about the older movies from new stuff, I can not connect with the people in today's stuff, I don't find them appealing in any way, I don't think they are funny, I don't think the acting is any good, I don't think the writing is any good, I think anyone that makes it in to a movie today is so freaked out and so pressured to "act" a certain way, that they can't act...they can't be natural and just have a good time.
When you see the out takes from movies like the Cannonball Run, you can see that everyone was goofing around, and just having fun, and they weren't uptight....you don't see that today, if you see out takes it is someone cursing up a storm, cause they screwed up their lines, and are mad. It just isn't the same.
They can't capture even someone slipping and falling...because it has to be so perfected and people don't want to look stupid, so they try too hard to do everything in today's movies, that they can't do anything without it looking fake.

Anchorman and The Dukes of Hazzard bloopers on the DVD actually show both casts goofing around and having fun...

They might show out takes....and I am sure they did goof around, but it isn't what I mean...it is like there's something missing, something I can't even put in to words. I am not saying they don't have out takes in movies...it just isn't the same.

I have the first one and I love all of the different cars in them. The doctor is creepy.

I know what ya mean Isis, but I meant that the above mentioned DVD blooper extras do not entail cursing up a storm due to forgotten lines or none such...
