a film from my childhood, the recollections are hazy but here goes...

I think it was an austrailian film and was a kids film

it involved a lake, or big pond and it was a bit of a mystery what was inside it

what was in it was like a big mechanical dragon or something

the main chracter i think was a boy and his friend was a girl.

sorry this is a little weak description
