I don't know about you fellow rewinders but I really dig the summer beach movies of the 80's. In particular, I really like summer rental, summer school, and one crazy summer. What movies am I missing here? I need to satisfy this craving so give me your favorite 80's summer movies maybe involving a beach.

Karate Kid Top Gun Side Out
"Side Out" came out in 1990.
I wish I could give some unique titles, but I'll just have to second Devo's call for "Back To The Beach".
Sincerely,
John Kilduff

Don't forget "North Shore", if you're going to talk about a great Beaches you need to include Hawaii. Don't be such a Barney. Posted by rocksteadyflamethrower (Member # 1065) on :
Well, actually...
It's not a traditional movie in this category, but why not include "Beaches"? It's right in the title and the last half-hour or so of the movie takes place on the beach.
Sincerely,
John Kilduff

Hot Pursuit The Flamingo Kid Ine Crazy Summer Summer Rental Summer School Side Out *Technically this is 90's but has 80's stars* C. Thomas Howell and Courtney Thorne Smith

Lots of movies that year had 80s stars...It still doesn't count.
Sincerely,
John Kilduff...
Well, to be more accurate, it doesn't count unless it had a 1989 copyright date at the end (a la "Don't Tell Her It's Me", "Lisa", "Loose Cannons", "Impluse", "Blue Steel", "Downtown" and "Tremors"). I haven't seen the movie all the way through, so I could be wrong and this might be an 80s movie by copyright date. Deep down, though, I feel it isn't.

Muffy, how about the Lemon Popsicle movies ?
and if you like Hot Chili, also look for Screwball Hotel (1988) and Hot Resort (1985).
I've seen Hot Resort...but not sure what The Lemon Popsicle movies are?.....totally gonna do some research now....thanks! Posted by aTomiK (Member # 6575) on :
I have Hot Chili VHS tape. Plenty of nudity but not a classic by any means.
I also own two Lemon Popsicles and Screwball Hotel but haven´t had time to watch them yet.

Seeing as how we have already jumped to over 100 degrees here in Phoenix, I am totally in the mood for some summer movies.
I just added "Humanoids From The Deep" (1980) to my instant queue on netflix. Looking forward to watching it.
