I do relize how vague this is, but I have a movie stuck in my head with little details and no name.
It was an 80's movie with a man and a woman who were going through tunnels with lanterns and there were these two ferrets that were there friends. I also remember a dark man with a cape, when he caught you under the cape, you turned into goo... I think.
I am sorry for the bad details, but I was very young.

You are talking about "The BeastMaster" with Marc Singer or V fame. It's on DVD, and rather easy to get a hold of.
