Nic Cage-I like him in Valley Girl,cause Nic did a great job as playing RANDY.

Matt Dillon-For his role as DALLAS in THE OUTSIDES

I was thinking the same thing, but the sad truth is all of the young 80s actresses haven't had any of the success of the guys. You find Molly Ringwald, Ally Sheedy, Lea Thompson, Ione Skye, Heather Langenkamp ... you won't find them in alot of anything nowadays. I'm a huge Lea Thompson fan, and I understand that she actually had *some* success post-80s, but it was nothing more than TV movies and a sub-stellar sitcom.

edit: As for the topic, my favorite 80s actor is John Cusack, although admittedly, it's mostly for his post-80s movies.

I was just trying to post a topic that had something to do with the '80s...Since most of the topics on here now are non-80s related. Steven & Brode i just wanted to discuss the Actors of the 80s..cause we always discuss the Actress. I was hoping that this topic would spark some great conversation. I thought long and hard to try to come up with something decent to post. Sorry my topics & posts are'nt as good as other members. I did at least try. Guess that does'nt count for nothing?

Rick Springfield (he was in Hard to Hold-hope it counts, even though the movie was icky)

You know who I like...is Matthew Laborteaux and his brother Patrick. I have been watching the Little House episodes, up to Season 5, and those boys were so good at acting.

I just watched an episode called Barn Burner, where it was all about racism, it was done so well, and they suspect the guy that plays Mr. Larabee of burning a barn down, it had been an accident by Andrew Garvey, it was so well acted. Those kids on those shows back then were so good at what they did. I have been wanting to look them up and see what they are doing now, so thanks for making me think of it CT...I am going to go check it out now.

Wow, I looked the guy up who played Mr. Larabee- and he died in 1980-suicide. That's freaky. I was thinking how miserable he was on the show, cause he played the town bigot, and he did a good job of it, he must not have been to happy in real life either.

there were so many actors in the 80's here to stay but probably the most talented are Sean Penn and Johnny Depp.I like the famous Depp scene in Nightmare where johnny'character has been killed by Freddy and i remember the Mike Nichols'movie "Heartburn"in which Kevin Spacey debuted performing a hoodlum who robbed Meryl Streep's wedding ring.

I know i might have forgotton a few Actors names. My point of this topic was to show,how many good young actors,that came out of the '80s. Compared to these so-called young actors of today.
