I wanted to create a separate thread so I didn't hijack SarahMVSU's thread about a movie that sounds like Hugga Bunch.
Anyway, Wizard, I found the movie I was looking for. It's called "Bonjour Timothy" (1995) Not the same one you are looking for but maybe a path to follow? I searched IMDB plots on just "New Zealand" and checked out the results. I imagine you tried that already. But maybe we can still try and find your movie somehow.
Here's what The Wizard wrote: "I'm still trying to find the name of that film where a ballet teacher moves to a new town with her son, he joins the rugby team and she eventually ends up showing the team how to play better by teaching them ballet!
