See the movie Dogfight. Now I know it was made in 1991 but it really has an 80's feel to it. Lili Taylor (Mystic Pizza & Say Anything) is the female lead character and E.G. Daily has a small, but weird, part.
The whole premise of the film is that River is a Marine who is leaving for Okinawa, however, during his last night at home, he and his buddies have this contest as to who can get the ugliest date to accompany them to this party. It's this big joke between them. Well, River runs into Lili who is kind of an ugly duckling. He charms her into going to this "Dogfight" party but along the way realizes how awesome of a girl she really is and in turn falls for her. It's just a great journey that you go on with them during this one night .
The chemistry between River and Lili is powerful. There are some very intense moments within the film. It's just so sad to know he's gone. Man, if River were still around, I don't think that Leo DiCaprio would be such a hot commodity .

I love it too and have seen it many time. *NOTE: The girl in the DOGFIGHT who has false teeth she can take out is none other than VALLEY GIRLS Loryn: E.G. Daley!

Cindy nice one! I loved this movie too! I too caught it on cable one night. Lili Taylor is a great actress who doesn't get noteable credit! Her and Rivers chemistry in the movie makes the story so great. It's hard to believe guys could actually be like that!!!! !
I loved Lili in Mystic and Say Anything. She's in one of my favorite John Waters movies Pecker....and she acted so over the top in it. I loved it!
River was such a great actor....I love his brother Joaquin....Have to agree with you Cindy if River was still around Leo wouldn't be such a hot commodity.......at all!
Those of you who haven't seen Dogfight..... do....it's really good and does have an 80's feel for sure!
