Ok. So I know someone here can help with this... At least I hope so.
Movie is about a typical suburban family in a nice two story house with a big yard on a hill. I remember one of the opening scenes has the dad & son looking into the sky with a telescope. People in the town start getting sucked into the ground, and then when they come back up they have a bandaid on the back of their necks. After coming back, they are evil, and eventually will take over the world, or something. One of the kid's teachers comes back with the bandaid, and they know she's evil.
Please tell me I didn't dream this movie up!! I don't remember any name actors. I think it would have been mid to late 80s.

What you are descibing here is almost certainly "Invaders from Mars".
This was a classic of 1950s science fiction.
It was remade in the mid-1980s with the screenplay being adapted by Dan O'Bannon (who wrote "Alien")
