I was just browsing in this movie website and I came across Ladyhawke a movie I haven't seen in like ages and that I grew up with. Oh I remember it was so beautiful. Anyone likes it or its just me?

I think that the movie on the whole is great - there are some really good performances, not least from Matthew Broderick. But that score!!! Phey-yew! Every time Rutger Hauer rides across a barren landscape, I need to mute the sound, before I get assailed by yet more heavy synth MOR from the seventies.

LadyHawke is an awesome movie, but the soundtrack was uber cheesy, but I have the soundtrack, lol [Razz]

The music wasn't that bad. I think it took away from the film though. Ladyhawke was such a great story and never and some of the cinematography was excellent. I think the score changed the mood from serious to cheesey.

I thought the music took too much away from the story and movie as a whole, the synthesizer bgm just didn't fit at all, Ladyhawke needed a real Orchestrated soundtrack, the soundtrack to Ladyhawke would've best fit in a sci-fi movie, you're right, it wasn't that bad, but it was bad in the movie, at least, that's my opinion. [Wink]

The music is one of the things I liked most about this movie. I thought it was a good mix of musical styles and that it worked pretty well.

I actually saw this movie in the theater about 7 times (I was really into medieval stuf, and still really into Michelle Pfeiffer), and just watched this again on disc a couple of nights ago, right before I joined this site! [Big Grin]

Probably my favorite movie of the 80's. [Smile]

I can even tolerate Matthew Brodericks horrible english accent [Big Grin]

I love the story, the storyline, the settings..michelle pfeifer, rutger hauer and most of all I love that horse..that is the most beautiful animal i have ever seen..

I just joined this group of movie-lovers. Ladyhawke was my favorite film, all-time, but Lord of the Rings now has that spot. The acting and sets were first rate.

I'd have to say that I love the soundtrack. It's credited to Andrew Powell, but if you check the musicians, you'd see it's really The Alan Parsons Project. There was indeed orchestration: The Philharmonic Orchestra in London. Alan Parsons and Andrew have worked together for years, and The Alan Parsons Project is famous for its music. (Alan Parsons being famous for producing the Dark Side of the Moon album)

I'm still looking for Ladyhawke's release in blu-ray. 5.1 sounds good, but True Dolby or HD-Master would be an improvement.

I found a blooper at the beginning: two soldiers are eating, and one turns to look for his missing money pouch--long before Phillippe's theft of it (shown later).

Just watched Ladyhawke and it was a pretty good fantasy movie.

The story is very good and i love the cast.
Pfeiffer is sooo pretty and Hauer is a legend.
Good role also from Broderick as Ferris... sorry Philippe "the mouse" Gaston.

I agree that it takes a little time to get used to the Alan Parsons beat in a fantasy flick,
and i´ve been Parsons fan since the 80s.
But in the end i liked it very much, certainly doesn´t ruin the movie.

Nice Italian landscapes, some good fight scenes and most of all, a good, clever story.

Recommended!

Haven't seen it yet, but increasingly I'd like to, as it looks like something I would enjoy, and as many would agree here, Matthew Broderick rarely if ever disappoints.
