Do any of you remember the after school specials that were on in the 80's? They came on at 4pm. They were like little movies? There was one I remember, that I loved and I swear the girl in it was Amy Linker from Square Pegs. The Story Line is about a boy and girl who fall in love, and they don't know who each others family is, and you find out the boy's mother killed the girl's sister in a drunk driving accident. It is really sad. Does anyone have any clue what I am talking about, and if that was an actual movie that you can find somewhere some how? I am dying to see it again.

Isis is referring to ABC-TV network's "The ABC Afterschool Special". The shows began in 1972 and ran until the mid-90's, when Oprah Winfrey purchased the rights to the shows, then stopped producing them. They were one-hour movies with an educational, but somewhat preachy message. Nowadays, some of them are regarded as being pretty unintentionally campy!
In 1981, a then-unknown Helen Hunt appeared as a PCP drug-user in something called "Angel Dusted". Nowadays, it's a laugh riot, and even Helen herself laughs about it too!
Below is a website with some viewer comments about the show. It is from a website called "Jump The Shark":
Hope this helps!

I just went to that link, and I am not sure how you post anything on it? I read through mostly everything, and I never saw anyone mention the one I remember about the drunk driving episode. I also am still a little unclear, even after reading Devo's explaination of Jump the Shark, does it mean if you jump the shark, then you went down hill after that? Or is it vice versa?

Jump The Shark means from that moment on the show went downhill. Usually around the time a sitcom couple announces they are having a baby(think Growing Pains and Crissy) the show is fighting to keep going when it should just call it quits.
