Ok, I know there must be a lot of you, but I want to know just how many.. so how many of you like John Cusack?

I mean like him so much that you'll rent (or buy) an unknown movie just because he's in it (and not necessarily a starring role)..

Also, am I the only one that noticed how he gets better looking the older he gets (question for girls or gay guys)?? I mean, not that he wasn't good looking in The Sure Thing, Say Anything, One Crazy Summer, Better Off Dead, etc., but in his recent films (High Fidelity, Grosse Point Blank, Serendipity), he's like GREAT looking.

Just an observation.. (can you tell I'm secretly in love with him??).

Well, I guess I do.
I just have to see every movie that he's in. (OK, except 'Being John Malkovich' which I haven't seen yet and probably won't because of the other John.)
John Cusack has that subtle kinda humor that I like very much.

I'm pretty sure there are more Cusack-addicts out there. [Wink]

Cusack has definetly been my favourite actor for quite some time, Michael J Fox comes a close second. Funny that Cusack has so many great roles behind him, but no academy award nominations, he's too low key to get bigger, but he deserves some kind of recognition. Hope it happens soon.

Yeah, Cusack is awesome. I liked him very much in Being John Malkovich, but I have to say that I did not like that movie very much. Also, he was hardly attractive in Malkovich. Now, Say Anything on the other hand, I loved it. John Cusack is great!

Yup no doubting he's a great actor but I don't like all his movies, I bought High Fidelity DVD because I'd heard it was good and also because he was in it, I didn't like it.
Grosse Point Blank is another of his films I hear is great but I'm hesitant to buy a copy (can't rent it, local Blockbuster's DVD range is almost smaller than my personal collection)

Edit: whoa! my 300'th post! how should I celebrate? [Smile]

Hi Wizard I'm surprised you didn't like 'High Fidelity', I just loved it, but hey, opinions may vary.
Perhaps you can celebrate your 300'th post with buying the 'Grosse Pointe Blank' DVD?!
I'm pretty sure this movie will not disappoint you.

Cheers! [Wink]

I loved Cusack's early stuff the most - the sure thing, hot pursuit, better off dead, one crazy summer, tapeheads etc but also really enjoyed later classics like grosse point blank.

From his very latest outings, well the last few years I didn't dislike - the raven or frozen ground.

But it definitely seems more of a case of quantity (6 movies in 2013,6 more in 2014) over quality nowadays.

Overall I really like john Cusack he seems a pretty cool guy, though he does come across a bit over serious at times!

 -

i've just had an online rental come through this morning and it's got cusack and thomas jane in it - drive hard an aussie shot car chase flick from brian trenchard smith the director of bmx bandits and turkey shoot amongst others.

have heard this is a bit of a stinker and did hear of quite a few bad reviews before i actually added it to my rental list so if does turn out to be a bit of a miserable watch i've only got myself to blame .

The first movie I probably saw him in was hot pursuit. I like him as an 80's icon but he ain't the greatest actor. But he oozes 80's so he gets thumbs up for me.

the sure thing is pretty awesome terdnthepoolggb as is grosse point blank, hot pursuit is one of my favourites from cusack's early stuff.

drive hard starring john cusack and thomas jane was filmed on australia's gold coast region bernie and it looks really stunning, the film from what i've glanced at so far seems a bit rubbish but it makes for a pretty good tourism video.

anyhow welcome back bernie lomax.

Bernie i hear rain man is going to star in days of thunder 2 - the revenge of raymond babbit is that true?

I have never seen drive hard but the gold coast is pretty nice - very touristy and artificial though.

You heard wrong - I am saving that title for number 3. Number two is going to be called Escape from Walbrook: The Raymond Babbit story

SPOILER ALERT:

Ray Babbit escapes Walbrook Institute by stabbing his nurse to death with a toothpick while screaming Who's on first?

You gave me a good laugh [Big Grin]

Well, I'm not obsessed with him, I like him very much though.

I thought he was nice in the small role he had in Stand By Me, when he played Denny LaChance.

I really want to watch Say Anything... though, I also want to see The Paperboy (2012).
