You guys all seem to know alot about 80s movies and I'm totally desperate to remember the name of this movie. It's definitely from the 80s of course, maybe really early 90s, and it was about this kid who got stuck going to the prom or somewhere like that with this really ugly girl. Well a lot of bad stuff happens that night and somehow they end up in a laundromat...the girl takes off her glasses and the guy's like "you look like a girl" and she goes "what did you expect, a german sheperd?" That's all I remember...it sounds a lot like Dance Till Dawn but it's definitely not it. Anyone have any suggestions....at all? LoL. Thanks in advance!!

sounds like THE SURE THING starring John Cusak and Daphne Zuniga. if she's a straight-laced girl at the beginning of the movie and drinking beer "shotguns" by the end, thats the movie.

Nope, certainly not the Sure Thing. It sounds like most teen b-movies of the time (we mention many of the good ones here, but there were some stinkers!) but I can't quite place it.

Tommo, the movie you're thinking of is called "The Go-Kids" in the UK, "The Quest" in America and it's original name is "Frog Dreaming" in Australia (where it was made), starring Henry Thomas (E.T.) & Tamsin West (Round The Twist) - http://us.imdb.com/Title?0091810
I have both the UK and Australian VHS's of it, the UK VHS is poor - mono sound and it was made from an off colour dusty print (tiny little scratch marks everywhere). Whilst the Australian VHS has stereo sound (not perfect but better than the hiss that mono has) and a clearer, more colourful picture, it's also much more difficult to get hold of.

nice one, that must be it hope it gets a release on dvd one day, till then i'll keep my eyes peeled on the tele guides.
We should start a thread about what 80's films are on UK tele, as i see loads of people are from england, would be a good idea so we dont miss stuff, plus sure a lot of people can record films then put them onto their computer to make it divx or vcd,
