I checked out this movie the other day. I had not seen it in years. The sound was messed up and there was a buzz throughout, but I was transfixed just the same.
This movie was made for TV, I believe. It was about a highschool. The students were popular TV stars at the time (Michael J. Fox, Dana Plato, Nancy Mckeon.) The teachers were former TV stars (Tony Dow, Bob Denver, the guy who played Eddie Haskel.)
What I learned from this viewing, was that Back to the Future is not the only movie in which Michael J. Fox and Crispin Glover both appear.

The movie-made-for-TV is called "High School, U.S.A.", shown on the NBC network in October 1983.
