Does anyone remember the series "Fame" on TV during the 80s. It was based after the musical by same name regarding a high school of performing arts. It had Debbie Allen in it as a dancer teacher, Nia Peeples as a dance student, some dude name Leroy who was a dance student, Gonzo as a music student, and another guy Jesse who played Nia Peeples love interest. I loved that show. Does anyone know if it is being played anywhere in sindication on cable? Also, here is a link for a petition to sign going to Columbia House if you are interested in having the series made into a DVD set:
Thanks!

I loved Fame! An excellect show from the days when NBC still had a great Thursday night lineup. I always remembered the song Lee Curreri performed (and probably wrote) called Be My Music. I was finally able to obtain a copy of it, a duet version by the "Kids From Fame". Everyone should be encouraged to sign that petition and hopefully it will get results. BTW, what's your favorite song ("Fame" not included) from the show?

Hey. this was one of my favourites TV-series. In Spain use to repeat many of american TV-stuffs, but not this. Last time I saw it I was 11 or 12. Now I'm 26. But I can remember some names (probably I'll get wrong): "Leroy Jackson", "Danny Amatulo", "Holly", "Chris", "Jesse Velazquez"..... I'd like to watch them again.

I've found this page. At least we know the characters correctly.
Gosh, I can't remember any songs from the series, but I do remember that I loved the song "Life is a Celebration," from the movie and also Irene Cara's "Out Here On My Own."
Thanks also for the website Jose spanish dreamer. I had forgotten the names of the characters. It would be so great if they would bring the show back. I was actually thinking of writing the WE cable channel and see what they say. Who knows. Doesn't hurt to try.
