Yeah - they changed from the original ending - Audrey 2 running riot and trashing the city - because of bad audience feedback in the previews. The sickly-sweet alternative they decided on was a bit of a cop-out in the end, but the movie itself is great. My brother has it on VHS and sometimes you just have to watch - no other movie will quite do!

I never had the chance to see it's alternate ending. I didn't even know it existed! Sounds pretty good though, seems to have fit better with the dark humor of the film.
