I got a terrible copy of this at a dollar store. OK here we go:

Michael J Fox is a slacker-ferris bueller type, with a scam for everything, and a crew of low-life buddies that include Crispin Glover.

Anthony Edwards is the smarmy rich guy with the porsche, and a similar crew of richies.

Nancy McKeon is the girl who goes out with AE, but ends up liking MJF.

MJF and AE have typical 80's poor wiseguy vs. rich asshole battle, culminating in a car race for $1000.00, which of course MJF wins, allowing all of the low life crew to go to the dance that the rich crew tried to price them out of. (tickets were like 50.00.)

A pretty typical 80's teeny-bop with cameos by gilligan and a few other 60-70's stars. about a 5 out of 10.
