I need help with a movie title, here is what I remember about the movie (not much admittedly):
The main characters end up in the hometown, and the streets are deserted, until at night when zombies (vampires?) come out, and they have to go into the sewers to escape.
I know that's not much to go on, but it's all I recall from seeing the movie once on TV as a child.

Sounds similar to like "Night of the Comet" or "C.H.U.D.".. but that's sort of plot was frequented in 80's horror..
