In the 80's was movie about a guy wanting to play in a rock & Roll band. His girlfriend was a brunette. His name I believe was Donny and at the end of the movie he plays a guitar solo.

It sounds like Rich Girl with Don Michael Paul & Jill Schoelen(?) but I'm not 100% positive.
