Bridgette Marie Actually started this topic on another thread and I thought we should continue it here. Is anyone dressing for Halloween, and if so will it be an 80s theme? This is the perfect time of year for us to live out our 80s fantasies. :)

I'm surprised you didn't mention the "Nightmare On Elm Street"!

Also, there was the "Friday The 13th" series! Some of the films in that series actually came out on a Friday, the 13th.

Well, I can't decide if I want to be a good angel or a fallen angel for Halloween. If I were to dress in 80's, I'd dress like Adam Ant a la Ant Warrior or Prince Charming...

I think I'll dress up as Michael Jackson. That'll scare the kids (and probably everyone else too)!

;->

arent you pretty old too, Steven? Like in your 40's or something? If thats the case then dressing up as ANYTHING should scare people, lol

This is a good topic, but at the same time why does it have to be Halloween to dress like the 80's?? Doesn't anybody have the guts to dress like the 80's whenever they feel like it?Start a trend! Have fun while youre young! Arrgghh, people with no courage irritate me, Carpe Diem people! =)

Usually I dress up as something scary, like one year I was Linda Blair from the Exorcist, but this year (if I dress up) I'll be a fairy. I'm in the mood for something whimsical and feminine.

Last year I was Kelly Bundy from Married with Children complete with black mini-dress, big hair, and all the trashiness. Everyone thought I was a hooker instead. I doubt I will dress up this year since there are no adult parties around here to attend.

Halloween movies I'd like to see: The Monster Squad and Teen Witch.

Don't worry Bridgette, I'm VERY 80's all the time but dressing up like Daniel Larusso in his full karate gear is not the kind of thing I do everyday! LOL I was just wondering if people were dressing as a certin well known personality and what not. Also some more good films to watch on Halloween are:

Evil Dead 1&2
House
Killer Clowns from Outer Space
Haloween (duh....Can't believe I almost forgot this one!)
Ghoulies
Critters
Dreamscape....that's all I can think of right now :)

The next time you go to an interview for a white-collar or a suit-and-tie job, try dressing up as Boy George or Wendy O. Williams of The Plasmatics, or wear a "Frankie Say..." t-shirt. Then let's see how it turns out! lol

Hi everybody!
I am 32 and love to dress up for Halloween.
In fact I am have a costume party for my two
boys and all they're little friends on Halloween night. I think I will dress as Angela from Night of the Demons.
Which reminds me, I can't believe no one will be watching any of these?
I have already started.
Night of the Demons 1 2 and 3
Day of the Dead
Night of the Living Dead (original)
Dawn of the Dead
Pumpkinhead (can't remember if that's 80's or not)
These are all great horror flicks with the typical 80's horror cheese in all of them.
But no matter what you decide to do I hope everyone has a safe and Happy Halloween!

Well, yeah. But what I'm specifically thinking of is dressing up as a person who isn't uniquely 80's, and not exactly mainstream pop culture.

I'm thinking of dressing up as someone not only scary-looking, but also disgusting and revolting: Ron Jeremy, porn star from the late 70's to the present.

Now THAT'S disgusting!

Steven, who thinks 80's porn is better than 90's porn. But that's way more information than everyone here needed to know! (Oh, wait: this ISN'T the rec.arts.movies.erotica newsgroup? I guess I'm in the wrong group here!) LOL

Vampryess, I can't believe I forgot those movies! Those are great choices! Anyone remember the movie Vamp? It was sill really, not very scary at all. All I remember is that it was an 80's vampire flick staring Grace Jones and the kid who played Rudy Gerner from Meatballs. Anyway some more scary flicks would be:
Sundown: The Vampire in Retreat
Salem's Lot(or any early Steven King film)
Children of the Corn
and even though it's not really scary, I have to watch Michael Jackson's Thriller video every year on Halloween. It's a tradition! :)

hey ali, yes Michael Jackson's Thriller is a must!! I worshipped Michael when I was little, and his personality reminds me alot of mine. Did you know that The Making Of Michael Jackson's Thriller is the best-selling VHS in history? Yep, it's true. Pretty amazing, way to go Mike! =-)

Hey Ali,
yes, I remember Vamp, I think Grace did an excellant job in that one. If you like vampire movies then let us not forget Fright Night and Fright Night 2. Although, I think the first was much better then the second.
If we're not limiting our horror selection to just the 80's; then I believe these are also great to watch on Halloween. Sleepy Hollow w/Johnny Depp
Dead-Alive
The Exorcist (unseen version)
John Carpenters "Vampires" (2 is also pretty good)
Dracula 2000
Blair Witch Project 1&2(I liked 2 better)
House on Haunted Hill
Hellraiser 1,2,3 and Bloodline
Popcorn
In the Mouth of Madness
The Tale of Sweeney Todd (this one is really just gross, not really scary)
I have all of these and many more they are my specialty. I hope I've named some more that helped you remember them and maybe some that you haven't seen yet. So, that you can try to find them to watch. P.S. thanks for replying.

I forgot all about In the Mouth of Madness! You just keep naming all those great films. I've seen all the movies on your list except for Vampires 2. Who was in that?

Posted by M80sgrl (Member # 332) on :

-The Addams Family
-The Poltergiest
-The Shining

-Valentine
-Children of the corn
