i remember seeing this movie as a kid. it was about a bunch of kids who flew to somewhere like china or japan to save their fathers who were prisoners of war. if any one knows the name of this movie, please help.

That was a film simply titled "The Rescue", with Kevin Dillon which came out in 1988. Super unrealistic but funny, the only real thing I remember is the ending. They're trying to identify the kids as American so one of the kids rips his jacket open to reveal a Bruce Springsteen t-shirt, lol.

yeah I've seen "The Rescue" that's probably the one you're talking about... It's got the dark haired kid that used to be on Family Ties I think..
