My pick is a song called "Anything,Anything(I'll Give You)" by Dramarama.
The song tells the story of a young teenage married couple who are having problems and the tough lessons the singer learned from his young love. He sings with such intensity and angst it's impossible not to be able to identify with him. Plus, most people probably wouldn't be able to tell it was an 80's song unless u told them, it could easily be a 2002 song.
I highly reccomend u get this song. If u dont want to invest the money into buying a Dramarama cd, than I suggest u download it off the computer. This song is sooooo me, so if u get it then listen to it and think of me =-p
oh yeah, if you've heard this song, post back your thoughts on it =-)
okay okay, here's another one, I think its called "Youve Done Nothing For Me", and its by Rick Springfield. It sounds like it would be one of the pop-rock type songs that they would play on TRL. Now, can anybody else think of any others songs besides the two I've mentioned????
quote:That's partly because that song was written and originally sung by Sammy Hagar in the late 70's. This was long before he joined Van Halen when David Lee Roth left.
...Surely u can think of a song from the 80's that doesnt sound like its an 80s song!! okay okay, here's another one, I think its called "You've Done Nothing For Me", and its by Rick Springfield...
And ya Nick, I like that "Let The Music Play" song too! I think I heard awhile back on VH1 or something that Shannon is working on a new cd, so I'm looking forward to that.
Also, I know this has nothing to do with the topic we're discussing, but I'm REALLY looking forward to the Goonies 2 movie, and I think it would be great if the theme song could be sung by Cyndi Lauper again. She has a new cd out and maybe she could do a new song for the flick. I dunno if she's gonna do that, but I think it would be awesome if she did.
Another 80's group that sounds more like they're from the 90's is Guns & Roses.
And oh ya, thanks for giving me the correct title of that Springfield song, I knew I got it wrong, hehe .
