I remember seeing the promos for it back in the day (indeed, when Disney released their animated film with the title, I initially wondered why they were adapting a TV show, before realizing the basic story stretches all the way back to Charles Perrault), but never really caught on then. When I did finally catch it during a weekend of Decades TV reruns, I can see why it caught on as a cult classic, as Linda Hamilton and Ron Perlman did have good chemistry, and the supporting cast around them did pretty well. Had Hamilton stayed longer, perhaps it would have been more of a keystone show of the decade (and early 90s).

Beautiful show, one of (if not my absolute) faves. I watched at the time. Then got the dvds years later and I couldn't make it through any of the episodes without tearing up haha
