The 80s is not known for itīs female action stars so we definitely need few 70s girls here.
Pam Grier of course (Coffy, Foxy Brown etc.) and Cheri Caffaro was awesome in Too Hot to Handle (still havenīt seen her Ginger films). Sadly Tamara Dobson died in 2006, she was cool in the Cleopatra Jones films.
During the 80s there was of course Brigitte Nielsen (Red Sonja, 1985), Lucinda D1ckey (Ninja III, 1984) and the adult movie star Marilyn Chambers was supercool (in a B-movie way) in Angel of H.E.A.T. (1983)
Then there were the Silk movie girls Cec Verrell and Monique Gabrielle. And have any of you guys seen Savage Justice starring Julia Montgomery (1988)? Hereīs female Rambo for ya!
Posted by The Good Package (Member # 9492) on :
it looks like she has man arms
Posted by aTomiK (Member # 6575) on :
Well, one needs lots of strength to carry that kind of weapon. A shemale perhaps

Yah probably she's packing heat. Hidden that is.

Why hasn't Sandahl Bergman been brought up?
Posted by aTomiK (Member # 6575) on :
Excellent choice Lovers with Cassie! Totally forgot her. Great roles in She (1982), Conan the Barbarian (1982) and Hell Comes to Frogtown (1988). Never seen Programmed to Kill aka The Retaliator (1987).

I think we need someone from Holland in this one too.
How about Renee Soutendijk ? She showed she's got some action skills in Eve Of Destruction (1991) !
And i would cast Meryl Streep against type, as the leader of the bunch ! I wonder if she'd accept if it was offered to her..
And we just NEED Sybil Danning in this one.. hell yeah !
Posted by aTomiK (Member # 6575) on :
Yeah, i remember Eve of Destruction. Pretty good sci-fi thriller.
Posted by The Good Package (Member # 9492) on :
i suppose you would build good upper body strength toting around heavy duty assualt weapons
i think the artist got lazy, and copied rambo's arms onto a women's body
Posted by Bernie_Lomax (Member # 8571) on :
How about Grace Jones and Hilary Swank?

One day I'm going to make a trip to Finland for the sole purpose of going through aTomiK's collection of obscure 70s-80s action movies!
Famke Jansen Jennifer Lopez Gina Carano
Posted by Lovers with Cassie (Member # 7794) on :
I have a couple more to add: Linda Blair as well as Zoe Tamerlis.
Posted by Johnny Roarke is reckless (Member # 9826) on :
Looks like there already was an all-female Expendables, and it was made in 1987 :
Posted by aTomiK (Member # 6575) on :
Linda Blair of course! How could i forget her, maybe she was too obvious
Mankillers looks fantastic! Letīs not forget Hell Squad (1986)

Ooh, my pic turned out to be gigantic in size i see now..
But hey, they threatened me if i would try to resize.. and they sure as hell look a lot tougher than i am.
Posted by Crash (Member # 7484) on :
These are great choices (though I think Zoe Tamerlis is dead). I would add Run, Lola, Run's Franke Potente to the crew.
JRiR, Meryl Streep as the leader--they could give her an eyepatch or a prosthetic arm--would be an inspired choice!
Posted by Zigyma7ik (Member # 12351) on :
Good gosh, why they don't do movies like this anymore..
Posted by Zigyma7ik (Member # 12351) on :
Look no further.
Posted by Valley (Member # 1322) on :
The first person to come to my mind as a wicked female Expendables would be Jenette Goldstein as Pvt. Vasquez in "Aliens".
Posted by Lovers with Cassie (Member # 7794) on :
I have yet another addition to make, Anna Kanakis.
Crash, you are correct in your thought about Zoe Tamerlis being dead, as she died in 1999.
Posted by Johnny Roarke is reckless (Member # 9826) on :
Some fascinating stuff about Zoe can be found here : www.zoelund.com Posted by Lovers with Cassie (Member # 7794) on :
Belinda Mayne could be added to this list moreover.

Virginia Hey is another one that can be put on here.

I thought I remembered correctly. I really liked her. She was also very good, billed as "Zoe Lund," in Larry Cohen's Special Effects (1984).

There is at least one more that can be put on here. Quin Kessler.
Posted by StevenHW (Member # 509) on :
I thought there already was a female "Expendables"...."Tank Girl".
