If you mean of a multi-film franchise, then Batman & Robin; if only 2 films, then Speed 2.

Posted by The Good Package (Member # 9492) on :

any sequel of any kind multi or only two

That stupid Cabin Fever sequel. That was an embarrassment to movies everywhere.

Splash, Too (1988)
Just watch the pic, do NOT watch the movie because it might damage your brain [Cool]

It must be pretty bad aTomiK. I can't remember it at all, yet I have definitely seen it.

Posted by aTomiK (Member # 6575) on :

Yeah, it really sucks.
I usually like this kind of stuff but i wanted to destroy the tape after i watched this.

Posted by Bernie_Lomax (Member # 8571) on :

Coming from a collector, that's saying something. I guess it's about 0.5 on a scale of 0 - 10, or perhaps that's being generous.

Speed 2 by far. Also Wrong Turn 2.

Posted by Bernie_Lomax (Member # 8571) on :

Hey Stitch, I was actually gonna mention Wrong Turn 2. I was so disappointed. I actually really like the first one.

But yeah, Speed 2 ultimately sucks.

Indianna Jones and the kingdom of the crystal skull!! No doubt!

considering it was more or less the same people involved with the original trilogy, it was just a monumental dissapointment and a cataclysmic cluster**** of a failure. Shows you how far Hollywood of the 80's are from the Hollywood of today in terms of quality, artistic vision, inovation... and least of all, artistic integrity.

Even Harrison Ford and Shia LeBeefcake has more or less disowned it. Spielberg too, only not in so many words. If Lucas had an ounce of integrity left (which he doesn't) he would too.

Posted by The Good Package (Member # 9492) on :

that's why i picked it.

i would also throw pirates of the carribean 3 out there as well, it seemed like they couldnt go wrong after the second, there was alot of high expectations, and then crap.

Posted by Crash (Member # 7484) on :

Jay Lee and Good Package, have you guys seen the "South Park" episode about "Kingdom of the Crystal Skull"? It is in hilarious bad taste, but it's oh so accurate!

Posted by JAY LEE (Member # 6345) on :

Yeah, I love that episode! Well, the whole show, really. Probably the best american social satire ever made!

Posted by The Good Package (Member # 9492) on :

not yet but im working my way through all the south park on netflix instant watch

People always talk about "The Simpsons," which, while excellent in its day, has run its course. I think that you are so right: "South Park" is the best American social satire. In every episode they manage to use humor to deal with complex topical issues. And I pretty much agree with just about all of their positions. For as nuts and over-the-top that show is, at its core, it has a very good heart. Masterpiece. [Smile]

Mannequin 2

Talk about one of the most unnecessary sequels in movie history, this one takes the cake. One of the worst excuses for a romantic comedy I may have ever seen. And considering how many Bad movies i've seen in my lifetime, that's saying alot. This movie's so bad that can honestly recall it making me feel physically sick to the point of vomiting by the end when I first saw it. It pains me even to be talking about, so i'll stop now.

i thought terry kiser was funny in it

Indy 4 as well as Die Hard 4, Justin Long, the green color timing look, Kevin Smith, Par Cor or what ever that martial art of fluid moving is called are just some of the things that killed it for me.

Posted by The Good Package (Member # 9492) on :

on a sidenote justin long would also appear on the worst sidekick ever page if i made one.

Posted by Jack Gannon (Member # 9144) on :

You know I heard orgianally that Indy 4 was suppose to be about Indy and his brother rather than his son which I think is a better story. There was talks at the time that it would be Kevin Costner, but I think Dennis Quaid would have been the best choice, He looks more like Harrison Fords younger brother than he does Randy Quaid.

However since they did go the son route, I think my idea would be better. Instead of making Indy's son a biker dufus, they should have made him a seemingly nerdy kid who acted alot like Sean Connery in Last Crusade. A boy genius who would go on a quest with Indy knowing the whole time they were father and son, but Indy would have to try and win his respect because his son would judge him as his father did. His son would correct Indy on alot of facts that Indy would miss quote, and as a surprise he could be and expert swordsman. That would have made the movie better in my opinion, that and make the female villan of the film a right hand to the main bad guy somebody a little more interesting.

And take out the ants standing on ontop of one another, tree branch lowering the car, monkey vine swinging scenes.

indy 4 was so bad it might as well have had jar jar binks in it.

but i think there is more dislike for speed 2, i havent seen this one from start to finish.

is it that terrible even though willem dafoe is in it, or is that what makes it terrible?

I like Dafoe and think he is a great actor. This movie sucked and it wouldn't matter who was in it. It was destined to be f....d.

bamersy i read about that titanic 2 on netflix the other day, thought it was funny that any boat maker would want to name their boat after the first one with all the "success" that it had.

That's actually a great premise, Jack. Never thought about that.

Personally, I don't think Indy 4 should ever have been made in any incarnation. the people involved had lost the touch, and the moment was just over. The original trilogy is perfect, and certainly didn't need this latter day taint. But if they absolutely had to do it, then I think Jack's angle with the father/son switch would have been muuuuuch better than the turd we got!

Posted by Jack Gannon (Member # 9144) on :

Ah Thank you Jay Lee, it's always nice to get positive feedback on an idea. I think that Indy 4 could have been really great had they ironed out alot of the wrinkles. One of the biggest things for me that hangs me up with new movies is the way they are filmed. The whole movie looked like a set, The temple of Doom was a set but you would never know it, to look at it.

Also, I would have tried to get someone like William Dafoe as the evil Russian, he's more of a theatrical bad guy.

Jaws - absolute classic
Jaws 2 - sucks
Jaws 3 - really sucks
Jaws The Revenge - Ultra f......d

The realism of the sharks also gets progressively worse when they should actually get progressively better with the advancement of technology.

I am probably one of the few who still thinks the shark in Jaws (the original) looks quite real.

Indy 4 could have been much better also just by getting rid of Shia La D..kface.

Posted by Jack Gannon (Member # 9144) on :

I agree Shark in Jaws looked real, and they should have fed Lebleaf to it. I mean if Indy 4 was suppose to be a combo of the films that made both Lucas and Speilberg where was the shark?

Pirates of the Caribbean- At World's End (the third movie in the Pirates series). It was a huge letdown after the first two. I can only hope the fourth one will be better. Why is Penelope Cruz in the fourth one instead of the Keira Knightly? They're going to need to subtitle it for us English speaking folks.

Posted by The Good Package (Member # 9492) on :

pitts

im thinking the fourth is going to be really good, take you by surprise good. just gut feeling about it.

but yeah im right there with ya on that third one, with the way dead man's chest ended i remember thinking i cant wait to see what they do next.

The Lost Boys 2 totally hated it waited so long for this sequel and it ended up being a cheap rip off of the first

I thought the first one had more of a raw feel, which is what I like. I felt the second one was sort of kiddied up too much (too Disneyish).

Caddyshack 2 rocks. I can completely understand that it is pathetic but I still love it. It has some great dialogue in it. I quote the movie constantly.

I am going to Strongly Object.

Major League 2 has some of the greatest quotes in Baseball Movie history. Maybe we need to see it again. It's great. As a matter of fact, I own that one and NOT the first.

We are DEVO

I liked both!

Alien 3 was one of the worst IMO, if only because of the way they just wasted Hicks and Newt in cryosleep. And worse still, Ripley spends the whole movie stuck on some prison planet with no hair, no guns and Gaffer the Tetley Tea guy!

Grease 2...obviously
Ace Ventura 2
Batman & Robin
The Next Karate Kid

Terminator 3 & 4

My reasoning being is that I am a massive fan of the first two but more so the first one and I waited ages for sequels that should have traveled down particular paths and failed to deliver. Many true fans of the series would have been majorly disappointed.

I don't even consider 3 and 4 part of the series. 3 was definitely the worse one, but 4 sucked too.

Another one for the books:

Teen Wolf Too,

As a young kid I didn't mind it actually but have watched both fairly recently. I still think the original is classic but TWT is terrible.

Posted by The Good Package (Member # 9492) on :

teen wolf too - jason bateman, i cant stand that guy.

Posted by Bernie_Lomax (Member # 8571) on :

I got nothing against Bateman but the movie just sucked. Plus he ended up looking like a chipmunk instead of a wolf. They copped out majorly on the make up in that movie. In the original they actually show quite a decent lycanthropic transformation, but in 2 they don't show an on camera transformation. Even if they did though it wouldn't have redeemed this movie but it would have helped.

I certainly haven't got anything against his sister. She was so hot back in the 80's. Ooh lah lah.

Posted by The Good Package (Member # 9492) on :

i thought his sister looked great too, heard alot of jokes on the contrary. her and daphine zuniga

speaking of werewolves, i thought the wolfman on the monster squad was one of the best

what do you think lomax

Posted by Bernie_Lomax (Member # 8571) on :

Anyone who says she is not hot is crazy and she is hotter than Zuniga too, but Zuniga is still very nice, but needs a nose job(haha).

Believe it or not I have not seen The Monster Squad. I have actually never heard of it. Is it worth watching?

Posted by The Good Package (Member # 9492) on :

its all right, dont expect a great horror movie, kind of a horror comedy like return of the living dead, kids are the protagonists, but good visuals and decent story

Posted by Bernie_Lomax (Member # 8571) on :

It definitely doesn't sound like it's up my alley. I have never been able to get into those horror/comedy flicks.

Posted by Jack Gannon (Member # 9144) on :

Major League 2 was alright.

Caddyshack 2 was good, Though I think the thing that killed Caddyshack 2 was the fact that it was a sequel to Caddyshack. Other than the goffer and the name of the golf club there is nothing linking the two together. They should have just made it an unrelated movie. Oh yeah I forgot about Ty Webb, but then agian why couldn't the character play at multiple golf clubs?

Posted by Jack Gannon (Member # 9144) on :

As a stand alone movie, Caddyshack 2 works.

Posted by Jack Gannon (Member # 9144) on :

They should have called it somthing else, because it had neither the caddies nor the shack in it.

Posted by Bernie_Lomax (Member # 8571) on :

"Alright hunchbacks, now listen up."

Yeah, the movie made a point of firing the caddies right at the start.

Caddyshack 2 - I can understand why people don't like it and understand why people deem it as pathetic, but the dialogue in that movie is priceless.

"My wife and I spoke to several of our members, and we both feel that after tonight it might be better if you didn't visit the club for a while."

"Whadda ya mean, for a while?"

"Forever! Actually."

This discussion for me begins and ends with Jaws: The Revenge. Since when do sharks roar? This whole movie just smacked of being a greedy attempt to keep a dead franchise alive. Surprisingly, I have not seen Jaws 3-D but it is on my Netflix queue. Dare I bump it to the first spot on my queue?

3 Ninjas: High Noon at Mega Mountain was also atrocious. Then again, the entire 3 Ninjas franchise was terrible to begin with. I'd much rather watch the movies they ripped off, The Karate Kid and Home Alone. Victor Wong was like the poor man's Pat Morita in these movies. And exactly how was he supposed to be the kids' grandfather when the parents didn't look the least bit Japanese? Wong wasn't even Japanese to begin with.

A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge also ranks high on my most hated sequels. I've never seen a lead character that was so wimpy and who I wanted to see die more than Jesse Walsh. Thank god Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors turned the series around and set it on the right course.

Posted by Bernie_Lomax (Member # 8571) on :

Zach, Jaws 3 sucks big time. I would only bother so maybe you have a perspective of which Jaws movies are worse.

As I've said previously in this thread:

It starts off well and gets progressively worse.

1: Is a masterpiece of cinema
2: Sucks
3: Sucks big time
4: Have you got a spare couple of days to hear my opinion on this one?

You just made it sound 1000 times better than it was.

"People come and go, and sharks have got nothing to do with it!"

Weekend at Bernies 2 sucks hardcore.
And yet it shouldn't have. It took some talent to write a script with the same ingredients as the first and make it suck that bad.
