Ever join a new messageboard and wonder who makes up the members?
While most of the regulars know that The Rewind has a directory that lists all the registered members and can be sorted in a variety of ways, I'm doubting that new members know about this feature.
So my thought is for us to make it easy by using this thread to tell everyone a quick summary about ourselves and post a link to our profile pages. Also, this is your chance to update your profile page that you proably filled out the day that you joined. Finally, while profile pics are encouraged.. they are obviously totally optional.
Basic steps are:
1. Click 'my profile' above 2. Click 'edit profile' 3. Make changes (Warning: don't fill in your password.. leave it alone) 4. Click 'update profile' button at bottom of page
If anyone is having trouble updating his/her profile .. I'll be glad to try to help them figure it out.
Let's try to see how many folks are actually here!

I've been a member of The Rewind since 2003 .. you can find me mostly in the 80's movie section, but I'll post in every area on occasion .. I enjoy movies from every decade, but the movies and music from the 80's hold a special place in my heart.
The Rewind is great for me because even though I know a few people in my everyday life that appreciate the 80's, it is only here that I have found friends that love the intricate details that we often discuss.
Some of my fav flicks: Valley Girl, Can't Buy Me Love, The Lost Boys, Sixteen Candles, Night of the Comet, Back To the Future, RAD, Modern Girls, The Goonies, April Fool's Day, The Heavenly Kid, Streets of Fire, and Night of the Creeps
Some of my fav music: The Psychedelic Furs, The Cure, Depeche Mode, Echo and the Bunnymen, Modern English, Sparks, New Order, Thompson Twins, The Plimsouls, 3 Speed, Oingo Boingo, Concrete Blonde, Prince, INXS, and Yaz
How about you? Are you out there? Are you reading?

I'm here
I post everywhere too, but probably mostly in the 80's film section and the 'Last 70's (or earlier) film you watched' thread. The latter mainly due to my neverending old horrors obsession
Some of my all time fave films: The Karate Kid 1-3, Once Upon A Time In America, Dracula: Prince Of Darkness, The Wicker Man (1973), Rumble Fish, Batman Returns, Casino, Dead Of Night(1945), Phantasm 1-4, Funny Girl
And music: Michael Jackson, Curtis Stigers, John Lennon solo/The Beatles, Billy Joel, Roy Orbison,I Am Ghost, Barbra Streisand, Buddy Holly, Freddie King. Recently I've gotten into Rob Zombie's music so he's all that's playing right now
I love coming here, especially in this last year or so. I remember when I first joined it was eerie with only a handful of posts across the board each day. Glad it picked up again Some great weirdos here

I've been a member since August of 2007, and as of today, have just made my 1500th post!
I check the Rewind at least once a day and will comment in just about any section. Like Valley, I love the Rewind as there are not many people in my "real life" that love the 80's like I do....nice to know we're not alone in the world.
I'm 37, happily married, and have a four year old son.
Some of my favorite movies are: Gremlins, Back To The Future, Karate Kid, Purple Rain, Flashdance, The Breakfast Club, The Toy, Weird Science,Without A Trace and so many more.
Music: Michael Jackson, The Cure, U2, Huey Lewis, Cyndi Lauper, Prince....and tons more. *Mostly love music/artists that were prominant in 1980-84.
This is a nice little daily escape for me in my busy life...but always like to clarify...I'm not "STUCK" in the 80's....I just like to visit from time to time....

Name is Veronica Sawyer, after Winona Ryder's character in the brilliant 80's movie "Heathers," (also my fave movie if you didn't already guess!) I joined the board back in 2003 but only became a very active member in the last year or so. I have always had a strange obsession with the 80's, which is why I love this place so much...Kev said it best when he said it was a "great place to escape daily life."
My favorite 80's movies are Heathers, Can't Buy Me Love, Just One of the Guys, Valley Girl, Sixteen Candles, Ferris Bueller, The Lost Boys, License to Drive, Lucas, Labyrinth and some of the iconic slasher movies like Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th.
Some of my favorite 80's music is by The Cure, Depeche Mode, Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Smiths, Madonna, Prince, The Go-Go's, Psychedelic Furs, New Order, Yaz, INXS, and Duran Duran.

Hi, I'm The Pyromantic, Pyro for short...
(click on my name to the left to see my profile.)
I'm one of only a few members on the Rewind with a non 80's themed screen name. But Pyromantic is a name I've been using for years on various other websites, and it's pretty much stuck with me since. So I decided to go by the name here as well.
Pyromantic is simply a single lyric I borrowed from a song by one of my favorite late 80's-90's bands, Type O Negative. The lyric can be found in their song entitled "Pyretta Blaze."
I've been a member of the Rewind for a little over 2 years now. I come and go quite often around here. And I also always refer to the rewind and it's plethora of members and Admins with super human knowledge of anything and everything 80's when I can't find or remember something.
Some of my favorite 80's movies are: Back to the Future, Alien Trilogy, Poltergiest, Indiana Jones Trilogy, Body Double, RAD, Gremlins, Flight of the Navigator, Date with an Angel, Hellraiser I & II, The Goonies, They Live, Creepshow....many many more.
Fav 80's music: The Cars, Boston, Cyndi Lauper, Metallica, Tears for Fears, Scorpions, INXS, Public Enemy, Alice Cooper, Peter Gabriel, George Michael, Patti Labelle, Donna Summer, Tina Turner, Van Halen, Cinderella, Skid Row, W.A.S.P., Queensryche, Skinny Puppy, KMFDM, New Order, Ministry.....again...many many more...
