When I first watched " A fish called Wanda", I couldn't stand it. I didn't find it funny in the slightest. I watched it again with friends when it came out on VHS, but the 2nd time around I loved it! I don't know if it was the mood I was in or what, but I don't know why I didn't like it the first time.

I hated Pulp Fiction first time around, gave it another go after a few years and loved it.

I never liked "A Christmas Story" the first time I saw it....it actually took me many times to watch it to think it was funny.

I loved Napolean Dynamite the first time I watched it...and loved it more when I watched it again. I continue to love it a little more each time I see it....

I hate Napoleon Dynamite, it was like torture to me. I can't even bring myself to watch it ever again.

I hated the movie "Mortal Thoughts" with Demi Moore and Bruce Willis- the first time I saw it, but then I watched it again and I thought it was well done.

ISIS....tsk tsk tsk....you obviousley need to watch Napolean Dynamite again...maybe two or three more times....it's like...a hundred times better than April Fools Day..... [Razz]

No way.....OMG- this coming weekend my friend is meeting Ken Olandt from April Fool's Day...I'll take him any day of the week over the Napoleon Dynamite dude.

I agree completely on Napoleon over April Fool's Day. Isn't Olandt a bit washed up? Only by 20 years or so. Look out Celebrity Apprentice or Surreal Life.....

I'd rather meet someone who did a two second walk by in Napolean Dynamite...VS... Ken Olandt [Roll Eyes] ...is Ken signing autographs at a local grocery store.... [Big Grin] ...just kidding ISIS...I know April Fool's Day is your fav....maybe your friend will scoop you an autograph....but I still can't believe you're hatin' on Napolean......

He is getting me an autograph, and probably video, and photos...I'll post Ken's photo...I have seen current pictures of him...he's gorgeous...he's always been gorgeous, I'll take him any day of the week ...then that dweebe in Napoleon Dynamite. He'll be at Chiller Theater.

I liked Employee of the Month better when I saw it the second time around. There are alot of little funny parts I noticed when I watched it the second time.

Ha your just jealous cause Jon Heder actually has a career. Back on the topic of movies liked after a 2nd watch mine would probably be Equilibrium. I thought it was so so the first time but found it got better with each additional watch..........

I really didn't like Ferris Bueller's Day Off the first time I saw it but nowdays I rank it as one of my favourites from the 80's

Why am I jealous of that guy? I didn't even know his real name, and I only ever heard of 1 other movie he was ever in.

i wasn't crazy about SIGNS when i first saw it in the theater, it took renting the video and watching it again to get me to enjoy it.

Jon Heder is HOT! I saw Ken Olandt on an episode of Airwolf last week on Retro Television Network. I never knew who he was- I saw his name in the beginning credits for who the guest stars were in that episode. What has he done for the past 23 years? I don't recall seeing him in anything else.

Taxi Driver. It took me two viewings when I rented it on video and then that film grew on me.

Devolution here,

Anchorman, it wasn't great at all the first time, and as I watch it more it gets better.

We are DEVO

John Heder is hot? Must be his "gnarly" teeth.

Posted by Stitch Groover (Member # 2895) on :

Devo, I agree with you on Anchorman. I thought it was OK the first time around, but my friends insisted I watch it again. I'm glad I did coz I found it so much funnier 2nd time around.

I can see how some people find Jon Heder hot, in an ugly-hot kind of way, just like how some people find Steve Buscemi attractive.

My friend is meeting Ken Olandt tomorrow, I gave him the website address for The Rewind, and told him to tell him about the April Fool's Day movie night. I am so excited. I really wish I could go to Chiller Theatre.

I can't believe how fast this past week went by.

Don't you mean grody or gag me with a spoon? Isn't that what they said in that Valley Girl song?

I think you know exactly what I mean.

Breakfast Club wasn't any good the first time. Later on in life(sometime around the early 90s) I purchased it on VHS for a whopping $20.

Posted by Pittsburghgirl (Member # 7514) on :

I have never seen The Breakfast Club, and I really don't have any desire to see it. I never saw Sixteen Candles until about 10 years ago.
The first time I saw the movie Nobody's Fool starring Paul Newman, I thought it was a little slow. Bu now it is a favorite of mine that I watch once every winter, along with Beautiful Girls.

Hmmmm....I'll have to think on this one a bit. I suspect there are a number of movies that I watched as a kid that were simply over my head at the time. When we had the movie channel in the early 80's, I would stay up late to watch some R rated movies. Again, I can't think of any off hand, but I suspect there are some from that era.

*On a side note...I don't even know what to say Pitts...I'm speechless and confused...I think I'm in shock and am going to bed right now to sleep on this...dang it, when I wake up in the morning, I better read that you were just joking...or...you stayed up all night just to watch the Breakfast Club!!! [Eek!] [Razz] [Wink]

Hand over your 80's club membership card right now!

It's probably too late for you to get the full benefit of it now you're older. I used to skip it at the video shop when I was younger, and only rented it when it was in the cheap section at the end of the 80's. I'm glad I got there while I was still at school though!
