Have you guys seen the Tornadoes that are hitting several states, some of them are massive.

We are getting a ton of rain right now. They said we could even have a Thunderstorm, that would be really weird for the middle of February.

It was close to 60 degrees here today....I was staining my kitchen floor, and had all the windows open, then it started raining really hard.

It's suppose to rain for the next 2 days.

Has anyone ever experienced being in a Tornado?

I have nightmares about them all the time...that's the number 1 thing I dream about, I have always wanted to know if they are symbolic of something, because they say certain things mean stuff in dreams.

Being right on the east coast, I have never experienced a tornado. All that rain is heading my way right now though.

As far as dreams go.....no one has stranger dreams than me. I have read books on dream analysis and such and I still don't understand why my mind comes up with the wacky stuff that it does.

Being in a tornado would be terrifying. The sounds of the wind, the debris flying around...I've seen the movie Twister but obviously that's nothing like the real thing.

Is anyone here in an area affected by tornadoes?

We have had severe wind all night, I barely slept-it was kind of scary, still is--I didn't even want my husband to drive to work this morning, because the wind can make you swerve and wreck. But, he left to go in.

2 sections of my fence broke, so that stinks.

I can't believe no trees have fallen down- yet.

I've seen five tornadoes during my lifetime. Thankfully none of them did much damage or hurt anybody. North Dakota isn't a part of what's considered 'Tornado Alley' but they are still a concern here.

I was in a tornado once when I was staying at my Dad's house in Texas. He and my stepmom had gone on holiday so I was there by myself. I had decided to go into town to pick up something to eat and maybe rent a video. It was early afternoon and looked like a nice clear, sunny day. But as I was driving up the highway, I noticed that there weren't any other cars on the road. Then I passed under an overpass and saw a bunch of cars and people huddled underneath. I couldn't figure out what was going on so I turned on the radio and was immediately hit with the emergency tornado alerts. Everything in front of me looked like a picturesque beautiful day, but when I looked behind me in the rearview mirror it looked like the end of days. The sky was pitch black and I could see lightning flashes popping off like firecrackers. I was trying to decide if I should find a place to hunker down or if I should turn around and make a break for home. So I pulled a u-turn right on the highway and drove about 100 m/hr back to my house. I got home just ahead of it and ended up taking refuge in the bathroom since my Dad's place is a ranchstyle house and that was the most central room I could find without windows. I stayed in there about 30 mins. with my radio and flashlight until it all passed. Fortunately the tornado skipped our neighborhood, but it ripped up a nearby town pretty good. I caught myself feeling stupid afterwards, but then I saw the path of destruction it leveled on the neighboring towns and counted myself lucky. As silly as you might feel sitting in a bathtub with a flashlight, you wouldn't think twice if one of those things bore down on your neighborhood. Nature can be terrifying. Growing up in Hawaii, I've also dealt with hurricanes which make tornados look like a day in the park. Being in the middle of a hurricane is like the world is coming to an end.

They say the bathroom is the safest place in the house to be during a big storm, cyclone or tornado.

We have had really severe wind. There was a funeral a few nights ago and the roof collapsed. A woman was killed--the sister of the guy whose funeral it was. Very sad. Also, the roof of one of the Super 8 motels blew off.

This wind thing is weird. My Dad was in Florida last week and told me they had sudden gusts of 70 m/hr winds that tore up the restaurant they were eating it, then the news about all the heavy wind in the Northeast, and now we're having an exceptionally windy day here in Hawaii. Maybe it's making its way around the globe or something. Super El Nino.

They are called "micro-bursts". We get them in Missouri and they suck badly. Every year we get tornadoes and micro-bursts. They kill people and destroy everything in their path. I have been a couple of miles away from an F-4 and watched it destroy a bunch of houses. Not cool...

Last year a bunch of houses in my moms neighborhood were destroyed. It just missed her street. It's amazing how they "drop" on a house, suck it up, spit it out everywhere, and leave the houses next to it in-tact. It's the weirdest thing to see.

Stay safe out there...

I have seen a few from a distance. The only time I was ever close to one was in Michigan actually. I was little and the only thing I remember was the wind picking up Sooling my grandparents Pikenese dog, and my dad chasing after her. He finally plucked her out of the air and brought her down to the basement. She was un harmed thankfully. But I remember asking my mom why dad was outside flying Sooling like a kite.
