Last night's episode had plenty of 80's references. Every episode has at least one or two, but this one seemed to have even more than usual: The guys were too busy to answer their cell phones becaue they were having their semi-annual Ray Dawn Chong movie viewing; Lassie said something to Shawn about him not quoting anything from an 80's movie, so he mentioned Night of the Comet; and there was also a reference about Just one of the Guys. Can anyone else remember some of the 80's references they made in last night's epp.?

I'd say the opening coda from back in 1987 referenced Mean Joe Greene's classic Coke commercial where he gives the kid his jersey.

I notice that they're finally starting to do something with some of the characters besides Shawn and Gus. That was always the weak link of the show for me - static, under-developed supporting characters. But last season they really worked on Juliet and now they seem to be making Lassiter more than just a one-dimensional cliche (the straight-laced skeptic cop, who never believes them no matter how many cases Shawn solves). Corbin Bernsen is still completely wasted, though. His character serves absolutely no purpose except as a catalyst for shawn's burgeoning detective skills in the flashbacks.

I love Psych! i'm so hooked.......what's funny is I KNEW someone brought it up alot on here in the past...Pitts??.....and I found this very thread titled Psych.......I just watched this episode!!!........when Lassie tells Shawn..."you can't even come up with some obscure 80's movie to quote?" and he's stumped....Shawn mumbles uhhhh "something Night of the Comet".........the scene ends and Shawn tells Lassie "your hair is worse then Joyce Hyser in Just One of the Guys"
I laughed so hard! The writers are quick witted 80s lovers you can tell love it!
I just watched one last week where Shawn picks up a Dynamite magazine with Square Pegs on the cover......lol it was tailor made for me!

Totally agree Muffy!
"Psych" is a great show and always full of 80's references. I'm not a loyal fan, but if I catch it on.. I totally watch it.
I think one of the best episodes was from this past season (Season 5?)- Dual Spires. It was a complete homage to Twin Peaks, including many of the original actors from the series. I know Twin Peaks is actually '90's, but they still had semi-80's hair and clothes.

Valley I started to watch your clip.....but i'm waiting til I get to it........I want all the surprises to come naturally haha
Pitts! that's the whole reason i started watching I saw that episode....which was funny....I started watching some when they were on tv........I actually didn't love it.....but it was funny.......then I started from the beginning and dang it's addicting! I love Gus the most........he's sense of humor and every time he squeals and runs like a baby......totally cracks me up......I love all the secondary characters like Journey said.....Lassie, Juliet......Corbin and Cybil!! just love them.......and the 80's refs are so obscure sometimes i wonder how the normal public even gets them?? "Judd Nelson in From the Hip" LOL

Ronnie.. I just don't know how "Veronica Mars" was such a miss for you. I only have 5 episodes left in season 3 and it has been a blast to watch from start to finish again. Incredible show!
I haven't seen enough episodes of "Psych" to recommend yet. But Pitts and Muffy say go!

I told Ronnie and I would tell all of you, watch this episode from Season 3: Tuesday the 17th
it's a funny take on 80s horror flicks and an idea of what Psych is like.....totally co stars Mackenzie Astin and Justine Bateman....watch this clip:
