I came across a website that has some fun with the science of Back to the future - for example, how Marty's life would really change when he returns to 1985, how he might have changed the history of rock'n'roll... and most funny of all, the mystery of Marty's brother's missing head.
It has some pretty cool scientician stuff, but with a lot of humour.

I never really thought that their crash following temperal displacement actually killed the Libyans (on the same token, there's no real knowing that their barrage did kill the Doc instantly; perhaps in an unaltered timeline, Marty would have shaken them and gotten help in time), although they may well have been knocked unconscious until our heroes had left and the authorities had shown up (they always tend to show up after the fact in the movies, don't they?)once somebody called in the gunfire. Interesting point, though, that they'd be tied to our heroes; brilliant though he may be, one can imagine the Doc might have overlooked something that could tie him to them (if they left the false bomb out in the open somewhere after realizing they'd been had, for instance, the authorities might well have been able to trace the pinball machine parts back to the manufacturer and have learned who'd bought them in the first place).
Now that in turn brings up another interesting what if: suppose the way in which Marty had changed the past had somehow changed the Doc's dealings with them so that they went for him earlier than October 25, 1985, before he could successfully test the time machine? Or if it meant they'd aim for his head instead of his chest where not even a letter from the past could help? THAT would all have seriously complicated matters likely beyond anyone's ability to fix it.

Actually, if you analyze these movies, they don't make any sense what so ever... so it's probably best not to...!

That's why I thought the website was so funny, coz it is just a movie, and most people accept the logic within the movie. Unlike Dr Who, which is completely factual.
