All and anything goes here about the nectar of the Gods. I'm turning too many threads into beer threads....this is way over-do!

I'll start with my top 3:

1. Molson Canadian
2. Heinekin
3. Budweiser

Posted by MotleyRulz (Member # 3598) on :

MMMMMMM Budweiser someone can open a can a block away and someone else can smell it lol although I like a Bud in a can occasionally. I've developed a great appreciation for:

1. Blue Moon
2. Gaelic Ale (locally brewed by Highland Brewing Company)
3. Good ole Bud Light

Many more I may do an honorable mentions list later. It may be 1/2 a page long.......

"He was a wise man who invented beer (Plato)."

I like Beck's too......

Alexander Keith's
Miller Genuine Draft
Coors Light
...and...RUM!

Posted by MotleyRulz (Member # 3598) on :

Pabst Blue Ribbon!

Posted by 80'sRocked (Member # 6979) on :

Nice with the Pabst and Becks!

kev....I used to love the Captain Morgan rum, til I wore it out along with alot of other hard liquors. I'm pretty much beer only now.

Posted by MotleyRulz (Member # 3598) on :

I'm mostly beer although I do enjoy the occasional dose of Southern Comfort or Peach Schnapps. I was more of a liquor person in college.........

So Co used to kick my a$$ with all the sugar in it....gave it up.

I did 7 shots of Tequila in a row once....that was the end of that. Now the smell of it makes me sick.

Fire Water was a fav of mine for the longest time....just got bored with it.

Absolute Vodka I drank way too much of in my bowling days....had to move on.

Jack Daniels had an awesome kick for awhile....needed a change.

Goldschlager was next on the list until I over did it one night and blacked out the whole night. I was hung-over for 3 days....could never drink it again.

In between all these "era's" I went through with the liquors, I mixed in the variety of Schnapps, Yagermeister, Gins(I never really liked), Sambuca, plus others.

I never did drugs, but I drank way to much. Now, beer only when I'm out with friends or at a party. I also got a DWI when I was young and it taught me a valuable lesson. Drink responsibly!

I've never drank and drive. I had a friend in college who was killed in an alcohol related traffic accident my sophomore year. I was supposed to have went with them that night too it really spooked me out made me think. Phewwwwwww I used to love the tequila until I had one of those college drunken nights where I was hungover for like 5 days. Tequila also makes me feel like it's 1000 degrees hotter than what it is too when I drink it lol dunno why.......

I was also a master of shotgunning a beer. That was my specialty.

One of my buddies was the master of keg-stands. I think he did one for like 2 minutes once. He also chugged 3 bottles of Cisco once, threw up instantly, and passed right out. He also chugged 2, 40oz. bottles of Private Stock in a row once, threw up again, and passed out soon after....again.

one of my favs this time of year jolly rogers ale! and I swear it's 10% makes my eyelids so heavy after one!

I love Boddingtons on tap now that's an awesome beer!!

Posted by MotleyRulz (Member # 3598) on :

Good God 10%! My fave beer on tap would probably be Sam Adams......

Posted by Riptide (Member # 457) on :

1. Moosehead
2. Sleemans
3. Budweiser

I don't drink much these days, but there was a time in my early 20's when a case of beer and going to the pub was like breathing at one point.

Posted by A Matter of NOMS and Death (Member # 2688) on :

1 Guinness (discovered it whilst serving in Northern Ireland)

2 Erdinger Weissenbier (as above but for Germany)

3 Caffreys

I'm not really a fan of American Beer (or Lager, as us brits would refer to it)

Noms Smiths [Cool]

I don't drink too much american beer, canadian beer is more potent and satisfying IMO, although I give my props to Bud.

I sipped on some homemade peach brandy tonight at the Thanksgiving shindig and ate like 3 of the peaches plus there was homemade corn liquor on the menu as well since we're in the South. It's a vegetable here in these parts so I got all my food groups tonight..........

AtomiK, I see you had Fosters as your number one... did you know that most Australians don't actually like Fosters? The most popular beer here is Vic Bitter!

Posted by aTomiK (Member # 6575) on :

Ok, so Fosters is more like export beer then?

I see that Vic Bitter is a bitter lager,
How´s the taste?

The VB bottle looks awful [Smile]

Beer is like a good woman....it's not what is on the outside, but what is in the inside that is important! [Wink]

Molson is really good!

Here are my favorites:

For the pure pleasure of the taste in no particular order except for Guinness, it's number 1:

1 - Guinness Stout - Real men drink Stout [Wink]
2 - Black and tan (Guinness Stout cut with a good Ale like Sam Adams)
3 - Samuel Adams - American micro brew "Boston"
4 - Any good Belgian produced triple - I met a brew master who traveled the globe trying different beers. He's the one who introduced me to this wonderful beer. Really guys, without trying to sound snooty, if you have never had a "real" Belgian triple you should. Most big liquor stores will carry a selection. Pay attention to the expiration dates though.
5 - Boulevard wheat - local micro brew excellent, if you really like a rich clean non-bitter bear, this is it...
6 - Fat tire Belgian - made in the US micro brew
7 - Molson - Canadian, I love Canada!
8 - Sapporo - Japanese smooth!
Lots of other quality micro brews....

Here's what I drink when I'm drinking!:

- Coors light
- Bud light
- Molson
- Miller high life light
- Pabst Blue Ribbon is good on tap if you can find it

Damn, now I'm thirsty again... [Big Grin]

4. Corona... again, unoriginal... but I love em'!

As soon as I saw the word, BEER, I had to chime in! I love just about any kind of beer, except that really super dark, black looking Sam Adams stuff. It's just too bitter to even sip. I drink Miller Lite all of the time, I also like LaBatt's, Michelob, and my friend turned me onto Blue Moon (no orange puh-leeze!). I dunno, there's too many beers out there- I'll drink just about any kind! I also love vodka, I drink that all of the time with either club soda and lemon slice, or with cranberry juice. I think that would be the "sweetest" drink I would do. I got hammered up last time I played Texas Hold 'Em- I was drinking some cheap whiskey and diet Coke, that the hosts had. I called my husband my "Man-Whore". Holy snikeys, what was I thinkin'? Oh-btw, I won that game too, ha,ha, don't ask me how I did it!

dude, can you get me the recipe for the peach brandy? I'll send ya mine for homemade Kahlua, if you don't have one already. It's made with Everclear, which you can't even purchase in PA anymore!

I agree with the Sam Adams and many other micro-brews. The after-taste is nasty for me. Don't get me wrong, I'll drink them....but give me a "normal" beer over that dark stuff anyday.

I play poker better smashed I guess it's where I'm not as afraid to take bigger gambling risks lol. I like Grolsch too has anyone mentioned it yet?

Posted by buffalo-girl (Member # 7498) on :

oh yeah you have to have a blue moon with a orange wedge on it and then squeeze it into the beer while drinking it mighty tasty lol!!! dee [Wink] [Smile] [Cool]

Staying away from exotic microbrews and going with generally obtainable brews, I would go with
1. Molson's--laughed at by my Canadian friends as the Great White North equivalent of Bud, I still love it because all Canadian beers are great.
2. Stella Artois--wonderful--and hilarious TV commercials.
3.Guinness--and with all that iron, good for ya too. Nuff said.

Michelob Ultra--Started drinking this low carb beer when I went on the Atkins diet and still drink it regurlarly now eventhough I long quit Atkins

Corona--Two limes please

Stella Artois--Great beer from Belgium and now the parent company of Anheuser Busch

Blue Moon--Only tried it a couple times and like it quite a bit. Worth the extra buck per glass

Morgan/Coke--Spiced rum with coke=awesome drink

7/7--Segrams 7 with 7-Up for a nice change of pace

Southern/Coke--Southern Comfort + Coke not as good as a Morgan/Coke but still a fine drink

Long Island Teas--Always fun to go to a bar on tea night and try about 6-7 different varieties at a cheap price. Call a cab or have a designated driver
